Player Notes

  • Little help in loss
Nedeljkovic stopped 31 of 37 shots in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Oilers.

Advice: Nedeljkovic had an unenviable position Sunday, starting behind a team that had lost in heartbreaking fashion in Calgary less than 24 hours earlier. The Penguins put together a punchless effort, and Nedeljkovic couldn't bail them out. He's lost four of his last five outings and is now at 9-5-4 with a 2.85 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 20 appearances. The Penguins return home for their next game Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:20 pm
  • Fades late against Jets
Luukkonen gave up three goals on 33 shots in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Jets. The fourth and fifth goals were empty-netters.

Advice: Luukkonen and the Sabres had a 2-1 lead heading into the third period but the Jets sent a furious barrage of shots - 14 total in the period - to mount a comeback for the Jets. He allowed two goals half way through the period and Winnipeg finished off the game with two empty-netters. It was still a solid outing for Luukkonen as he ended up with a .909 save percentage. With six wins in his last nine starts, Luukkonen is currently a valuable asset for fantasy hockey managers seeking a reliable goaltender with upside potential. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:46 pm
  • Cruises to win
Pickard stopped 22 of 23 shots in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Penguins.

Advice: The lone goal against Pickard was Evgeni Malkin's garbage-time tally in the third period to break up the shutout bid. While his playing time is limited, Pickard has been solid when called upon. He has won five of his six outings in 2024, allowing no more than three goals in any of them. For the season, he's at 8-3-0 with a 2.40 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Pickard's strong play as a backup has quelled the concern that the Oilers need to add a goalie ahead of Friday's trade deadline. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:41 pm
  • Picks up win
Brossoit stopped 17 of 19 shots in a 5-2 win over Buffalo on Sunday.

Advice: Brossoit allowed a goal in each of the first two periods but was able to kick aside all seven shots in the third as Winnipeg mounted a comeback. While he only faced a total of 19 shots all game in front of the Jets stingy defense, he finished the game with an .895 save percentage. This was the third win in a row for Brossoit and his seventh in his past nine starts. While he has shown success in the win column, he still remains the backup to Connor Hellebuyck. • Allows two goals in loss
Dostal gave up two goals on 31 shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Canucks.

Advice: Nils Hoglander scored on the Canucks' first goal of the game, and a defensive breakdown led to Conor Garland tapping in the decisive tally early in the second period. It was still another solid effort from Dostal, who got his second straight start with John Gibson (illness) out. Dostal is at 9-16-1 with a 3.61 GAA and a .902 save percentage through 29 outings. The Ducks' next game is versus the Senators on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:30 pm
