  • Upshall had a broken/dislocated thumb
Scottie Upshall's upper-body ailment was a broken and dislocated right thumb.

Advice: He sustained the ailment in Game 7 against Chicago during the first round. Upshall tapped it up and he stayed in the lineup until he missed three games in the Western Conference Final. The injury restricted what he could do on the ice, but now he has the summer to recover. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:57 pm

David Backes hopes to sign a new deal with St. Louis.

Advice: "No question this is home. We've been here 10 years and this is what we consider home. I don't know anything else," said Backes. "Hopefully it all works out, but it is the unfortunate side of sports that guys staying with one team is rare but maybe I'm one of those rare guys. That would be great." He can become an unrestricted free agent in July, but he has said all along that he wants to stay with the only team that he has played for during his NHL career. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:40 pm

  • 'Ceiling is limitless' for Vasilevskiy
Andrei Vasilevskiy will force the Lightning to make changes to their crease eventually, but for now the team is satisfied to have him play with Ben Bishop.
