Player Notes

  • Michal Neuvirth takes loss against Ducks
Michal Neuvirth made 25 saves on 28 shots but took the loss for Buffalo in a 4-1 Anaheim win on Wednesday.

Advice: It can't really come as a surprise that Neuvirth got no goal support as his team has now managed just one goal in the past three games. With the Sabres playing again on Thursday night, it's expected that Jhonas Enroth will get the call in the second half of the back-to-back. Neither are good options in fantasy right now. • Tyler Ennis scores lone goal in loss
Tyler Ennis was the only Buffalo player to get on the board in a 4-1 loss to Anaheim on Wednesday.

Advice: The goal at the time cut the Ducks' lead to 2-1 but it didn't take long for Corey Perry to respond with two goals. The Sabres have scored just one goal in the last three games. Ennis himself is off a decent start with three goals but we only recommend him in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Ben Scrivens strong in 34 saves win
Ben Scrivens stopped 34-of-36 shots in a 3-2 Edmonton win over Washington on Wednesday night.

Advice: Scrivens was outstanding for the Oilers who have turned things around nicely over the last seven days when many hockey pundits left them for dead. Edmonton was out-shot 13-4 by the Capitals in the third period but Scrivens stood tall for them. Scrivens got his second win in row after defeating the Lightning on Monday. Rotoworld.com

  • Ryan Nugent Hopkins scores again in win
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored for the second time in as many games for the Oilers who defeated Washington 3-2 on Wednesday.

Advice: The Nuge took advantage of a brutal Alex Ovechkin give-away and then came in on a partial break-away, making no mistake stick side on a helpless Braden Holtby. It looked like it would be another slow start to the season for RNH but the talented center has now recorded four points in five games played. Justin Schultz also scored his second goal in as many nights for the Oilers who have won three in row. Rotoworld.com

  • Braden Holtby makes just 17 saves in loss
Braden Holtby stopped 17-of-20 shots fired his way in the Capitals 3-2 loss to the Oilers on Wednesday.

Advice: Holtby got a little unlucky on the game winning goal as the point shot was a knuckle-puck that got through a screen in front of him but other than that he didn't have too much to complain about. It wasn't really a great performance from the Caps' number one. Holtby still owns a solid 2.17 GAA to go with a .917 save percentage in five appearances this season. Rotoworld.com
