Player Notes

  • Will report to Team Canada for WJC
Luneau was loaned from Anaheim to Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Championship, per Derek Lee of The Sporting Tribune.

Advice: Luneau has a goal and three points in seven contests with Anaheim in 2023-24. He'll likely earn a major role with Team Canada for the highly competitive tournament, which should prove to be beneficial to the 19-year-old's long-term development. Anaheim was using Luneau somewhat sparingly, so it remains to be seen if he'll return to the Ducks after the tournament or report to QMJHL Gatineau. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago
  • Back at practice Saturday
Drysdale (lower body) returned to practice Saturday, per Derek Lee of The Sporting Tribune.

Advice: Drysdale has been out of action since Oct. 15. He was behind the eight ball at the start of the season after missing most of training camp due to a contract dispute. Drysdale flashed his offensive upside before getting hurt, earning an assist in each of his first two outings. It remains unclear when he will be ready to return, but at least he appears to be making some progress. Rotowire.com Today, 10:52 am
  • Brought up from minors
Thrun was summoned from AHL San Jose on Saturday.

Advice: Thrun has notched one goal and six points in 18 minor-league contests this campaign. He also has two assists and five blocked shots in two NHL appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:51 am
  • Out Saturday
McAvoy (upper body) won't play Saturday against the Coyotes, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports.

Advice: While coach Jim Montgomery expressed some optimism that McAvoy would be good to go Saturday, the 25-year-old defenseman will ultimately be unavailable after suffering an injury Thursday against San Jose. Ian Mitchell will likely reenter the lineup in McAvoy's absence. His next chance to play will come Wednesday against the Devils. Rotowire.com Today, 8:58 am
  • Will play Saturday
Durzi (lower body) will return to action versus Boston on Saturday, per Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.

Advice: Durzi missed only one game with the injury. The Coyotes' top offensive threat on the blue line, Durzi has five goals and eight assists in 24 games, including three goals and seven points coming via the power play. Rotowire.com Today, 8:50 am
