Player Notes

  • Facing Kings
Georgiev will get the starting nod in Los Angeles on Sunday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Advice: After rattling off three straight wins, Georgiev coughed up four goals in an overtime loss to Arizona on Thursday. The 27-year-old fell to 13-5-1 with a pedestrian 2.89 GAA and .897 save percentage through 19 appearances. Since the start of November, Georgiev has registered an .883 save percentage. • Tending twine Sunday
Talbot will get the starting nod at home against the Avalanche on Sunday.

Advice: Talbot has won three of his last four outings and seven of his last nine. During that nine-game span, he's allowed just 14 total goals while posting a stellar .944 save percentage. He allowed two goals in Wednesday's loss to Washington but hasn't lost two straight games this season. Talbot is 10-4-1 with a 2.02 GAA and a .928 save percentage. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
  • Draws start Sunday
Luukkonen will face the Predators at home Sunday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

Advice: Luukkonen was hammered for six goals on just 20 shots in Thursday's loss to St. Louis. Prior to that brutal performance, he had given up just five goals over his previous four appearances. The 24-year-old is now 6-4-1 with a 2.88 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 12 outings. • Guarding cage Sunday
Saros will get the starting nod in Buffalo on Sunday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

Advice: Saros was yanked early in his loss to Minnesota on Thursday after allowing four goals on 15 shots. That hiccup snapped his four-game winning streak; during that run, he gave up nine goals on 120 shots. The 28-year-old has been uncharacteristically streaky this season, resulting in a lackluster .895 save percentage and 3.17 GAA with an 8-10-0 record. Rotowire.com Today, 3:33 pm
  • Skates before practice
Lindgren (illness) was on the ice prior to Sunday's practice, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Lindgren was held out of Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights, but he appears to be making a quick recovery. The 29-year-old's availability for Monday's clash with the Coyotes has yet to be determined. Still, the Capitals can breathe a sigh of relief that Lindgren's absence isn't likely to be a lengthy one. He has posted a 2.30 GAA and .934 save percentage behind a 5-2-0 record this season. Rotowire.com Today, 3:23 pm
