    Myers inked a three-year, $9 million contract with the Canucks on Thursday.

    Advice: Myers had five goals, 29 points, 77 PIM, 110 hits and 136 blocks in 77 regular-season contests with Vancouver in 2023-24. He's taking a significant pay cut compared to his previous seven-year, $38.5 million contract, but that's appropriate given that he'll turn 38 before this deal expires.     Although McDavid played through an injury during at least part of the postseason, he won't require surgery and will be good for training camp, Ryan Rishaug of TSN reports Thursday.

    Advice: McDavid had an incredible eight goals and 42 points in 25 playoff contests this year. His 34 assists is a new record, topping Wayne Gretzky's single postseason high of 31 from 1987-88, and the 27-year-old McDavid was also the first player to collect at least 40 points in a playoff run since Gretzky in 1992-93. Ylonen will probably end up settling for a two-way contract somewhere, but the 24-year-old should have a real shot of earning an NHL roster spot out of training camp with whatever squad he joins.     Burroughs was acquired by the Kings from the Sharks on Thursday in exchange for Carl Grundstrom.

    Advice: Burroughs had two goals, eight points, 71 PIM, 233 hits and 134 blocks in 73 contests with San Jose in 2023-24. He has two seasons remaining on his three-year, $3.3 million contract. Although the 28-year-old won't make much of an offensive impact with LA, the gritty blueliner figures to plug in nicely on the Kings' third pairing.     Grundstrom was traded to San Jose from Los Angeles for Kyle Burroughs on Thursday.

    Advice: Grundstrom had eight goals and four points in 50 regular-season games for the Kings this season, before missing the final 32 contests with a lower-body injury. He returned to play in all five first-round playoff games versus Edmonton but was unable to garner a point.     Joshua agreed to terms on a four-year, $13 million contract with Vancouver on Thursday.

    Advice: Joshua is coming off a career year in which he set new personal bests in goals (18), assists (14) and shots (84) despite playing in just 63 regular-season games. If he can stay healthy in 2024-25, the 28-year-old winger should be capable of topping both the 20-goal and 40-point thresholds.     Lafferty's negotiating rights, along with Ilya Mikheyev and a second-round pick in 2027, were traded to the Blackhawks from the Canucks for a fourth-round pick in 2027 on Wednesday, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: Lafferty had not agreed to a contract at the time of the trade, but the Blackhawks will have until Sunday night to negotiate with him exclusively before free agency opens Monday. If he signs with Chicago, this would be Lafferty's second stint with the team. He earned 32 points over 97 contests across parts of two seasons with the Blackhawks, and he continued his solid depth scoring with 24 points in 79 outings with the Canucks in 2023-24.
