  • Sam Gagner gets four points as CBJ tops ARI
Sam Gagner led the Blue Jackets to a 4-1 victory on Monday with two goals and two assists.

Advice: Gagner was limited to just eight goals and 16 points in 51 games with Philadelphia last season, but he seems to have turned his career around in Columbus. After Monday's showing he now has 10 goals and 17 points in 23 games this season. Nick Foligno and Zach Werenski each found the back of the net for the Blue Jackets. Cam Atkinson assisted on two of Columbus' four goals. Today, 7:43 pm

  • Marcus Johansson scores twice, including GWG
Marcus Johansson scored two goals, including the overtime marker, in Washington's 3-2 win over Buffalo Monday night.

Advice: Those were Johansson's 10th and 11th goals in 24 games this season. To give that some context, he has never scored more than 20 markers in a single campaign, so he's currently on pace to shatter his personal best. He also remarkably already has five game winners. Jay Beagle scored Washington's other goal. Evgeny Kuznetsov, Justin Williams, Daniel Winnik, John Carlson, Dmitry Orlov, and Brooks Orpik each registered an assist. Today, 7:31 pm

Jaromir Jagr found the back of the net in Florida's 4-3 overtime loss to Boston Monday night.

Advice: That was Jagr's fifth goal of the season and the 754th of his career. Aleksander Barkov and Jason Demers also scored for the Panthers. Aaron Ekblad, Michael Matheson, Mark Pysyk, Reilly Smith, and Vincent Trocheck each registered an assist. Today, 7:02 pm
  • D. Dorsett has been less than 100% for years
Derek Dorsett, who will undergo cervical fusion surgery due to disc degeneration in his neck, has been dealing with this issue for five or six years.

Advice: So if you're looking for a silver lining, maybe Dorsett will be feeling better than he has in a long time should he make a full recovery as the Canucks expect him to do. That being said, it's not yet known how long it will take him to recover from this procedure. He's in the second season of a four-year, $10.6 million deal. Today, 1:34 pm
    Injured Reserve
  • Arizona will scratch Anthony Duclair Monday
Anthony Duclair will be a healthy scratch on Monday.

Advice: Duclair had a strong rookie showing with 20 goals and 44 points in 81 games last season, but his sophomore campaign has been a huge step down thus far. Through 23 contests, he has just one goal and four points. Coyotes coach Dave Tippett sees this as an opportunity for Duclair to "reset." He'll be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Today, 11:49 am
  • Beau Bennett (leg) is good to return
Beau Bennett (leg) is medically cleared to return to the Devils' lineup.

Advice: That would suggest that Bennett will be in the lineup on Tuesday, but he's also still on the injured reserve list at the moment, so nothing's official. The Devils need to clear a roster spot for him and it wasn't immediately clear how they would chose to do that. He has a goal and seven points in 20 contests this season. Today, 11:21 am
  • Dmitrij Jaskin (illness) misses practice
Dmitrij Jaskin missed Monday's practice due to an illness.

Advice: It remains to be seen if Jaskin will be able to play on Tuesday. He has a goal and six points in 23 games this season. Today, 11:13 am
  • Michael Grabner (personal) won't play Tuesday
Michael Grabner will miss Tuesday's game after his grandmother passed away.

  • Paul Thompson will likely play on Monday
Look for Paul Thompson to dress in Monday's game.

Advice: Thompson was called up from AHL Springfield on Sunday. He has six goals and 15 points in 20 AHL contests this season. He's 28 years old and has played in three career NHL games. "I know he’ll be ready to play. He’s got a heavy shot band; he’ll play a hard-nosed, two-way game," Panthers GM/interim coach Tom Rowe said. "He’ll go in and give us a spark. What we really like about him in training camp was how hard he played." Today, 8:10 am
  • Patrick Kane picks up an assist on Sunday
Patrick Kane recorded an assist in Chicago's 2-1 loss to Winnipeg on Sunday.

Advice: Kane is on a three-game point streak. He has eight goals and 26 points in 27 contests in 2016-17. Today, 7:49 am
  • Jake Virtanen finally scores at AHL level
Jake Virtanen scored his first goal in the AHL this season on the weekend.

Advice: Virtanen was sent to the minors on November 16 and started the game on the fourth line so he has not been impressive at all. He has three points in 10 games with Utica and it looks like it could be a while if at all this season, that he returns to the Canucks. He may need a change of scenery to get his career back in gear. Today, 6:55 am

  • Jannik Hansen getting close to returning
According to reports, Jannik Hansen (fractured ribs) looked quite good at practice Friday.

Advice: Hansen fractured his ribs on November 5 from a hit by Toronto's Morgan Rielly and was expected to miss four-six weeks. We've hit the four week mark and it looks like he is ready to return any day. He has six points in 12 games and has played exceptionally well with the Sedin twins in the last couple of seasons. Today, 6:52 am
    Injured Reserve
  • Josh Bailey scores to send game into OT
Josh Bailey scored his fourth of the season Sunday to send the game into overtime.

Advice: The Islanders ended up losing to the Red Wings 4-3 but Bailey is now on a five game points streak as he has a goal and four helpers to give him 15 points in 24 games. Bailey is seeing top line action of late with John Tavares and Brock Nelson and all of a sudden the former first round pick has some fantasy value. Today, 6:08 am
  • Rangers missing Mika Zibanejad
The New York Rangers have been unable to fill the void at center caused by the broken fibula to Mika Zibanejad.

Advice: The injury occurred two weeks ago and Zibanejad is still projected to be out of action for another month. The Rangers have tried J.T. Miller and Brandon Pirri in his spot but neither have worked out. The Rangers are a solid Stanley Cup contender and will just wait it out until Zibanejad returns to action. The talented Swede has 15 points in 18 games thus far. Today, 5:49 am
    Injured Reserve
  • Pavel Buchnevich still out couple more weeks
Pavel Buchnevich will still be out of action for a couple of more weeks with back woes.

Advice: Buchnevich has been out almost a month thus far with the ailment and the Rangers are looking forward to his return as he is a top-six forward. He has four goals and eight points in only 10 games so he really can contribute to your fantasy squad when healthy. Today, 5:45 am
    Injured Reserve
  • Alex Chiasson gets Gordie Howe hat trick
Alex Chiasson picked up the Gordie Howe hat trick on Sunday.

Advice: The Gordie Howe hat trick is a goal, an assist and a fight and Chiasson actually did better than that as he had a pair of helpers. Chiasson has five goals and 10 points this season with 19 penalty minutes. Today, 4:16 am
