  • Can't close out series
Silovs stopped 20 of 22 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Predators in Game 5.

Advice: Silovs gave up goals to Roman Josi and Alexandre Carrier in the third period of a low-scoring loss. With five goals allowed on 52 shots, Silovs has been solid in his two playoff appearances. The 23-year-old may still end up ceding the crease back to Casey DeSmith, who served as backup Tuesday after missing Sunday's Game 4 with a lower-body injury. The Canucks will get their second chance to advance in Friday's Game 6 in Nashville. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
  • Keeps season alive
Saros stopped 19 of 20 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Canucks in Game 5.

Advice: It was another low-event game, and Saros did his part this time to keep the Predators' season alive. He gave up just a Nikita Zadorov goal in the third period. Saros has allowed 11 goals on 91 shots through five playoff outings -- those aren't great numbers, but he's done enough to keep most of the games close so far. The 29-year-old is almost guaranteed to get the nod again in Friday's Game 6. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:07 pm
  • Can't shake skid Tuesday
Hellebuyck stopped 26 of 31 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.

Advice: The Avalanche took over in the third period, leaving Hellebuyck with a fourth straight loss to end the Jets' playoff run after one round. The 30-year-old gave up 24 goals in five appearances, a dramatically worse performance than he showed with a 2.39 GAA and a .921 save percentage over 60 regular-season games. Hellebuyck was announced as a Vezina Trophy finalist this week for that work, but he'll likely want to forget the postseason quickly in preparation for 2024-25. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm
  • Secures series win
Georgiev stopped 33 of 36 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Jets in Game 5.

Advice: Georgiev allowed seven goals in a Game 1 loss, then gave up a total of eight goals over the next four contests to guide the Avalanche to the 4-1 series win. Any questions about his ability to step up in the playoffs have been put to rest now. Georgiev will remain the starter heading into the second round, and he'll get some extra rest while the Avalanche await the winner of the Stars-Golden Knights series. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:11 pm
  • Rises to NHL
DiPietro was called up from AHL Providence on Tuesday, per CapFriendly.

Advice: DiPietro is likely up with the Bruins as an emergency third goalie for the playoffs. He signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Bruins in March, setting him up to once again fill an organizational depth role in 2024-25. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm
  • Starting Game 5
Swayman will protect the home net Tuesday in Game 5 against Toronto, per Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe.

Advice: Swayman is coming off a 24-save effort in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Maple Leafs in Game 4. He has posted a 3-0 record this postseason, stopping 87 of 91 shots during that span. The Bruins can advance to the second round of the playoffs with a victory in Tuesday's matchup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:35 pm
  • Guarding goal in Game 5
Andersen will patrol the home crease Tuesday in Game 5 against the Islanders, according to Andrew Gross of Newsday.

Advice: Andersen is coming off a 32-save effort in a 3-2 double-overtime loss to the Islanders on Saturday in Game 4. He has stopped 103 of 112 shots en route to a 3-1 record this postseason. The Hurricanes can advance to the second round of the playoffs with a victory in Tuesday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:43 pm
  • Available to play
DeSmith (lower body) will return to the lineup in Tuesday's Game 5 home matchup versus Nashville, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.

Advice: Per Batchelor, the starting goaltender for the Canucks will be a game-time decision. Due to the absences of DeSmith and Thatcher Demko (knee), Arturs Silovs made his NHL playoff debut in Game 4, stopping 27 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime victory over the Predators. If DeSmith doesn't start Tuesday, Silovs will probably be between the pipes. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:50 am
  • Tending twine in Game 5
Woll will guard the road net Tuesday in Game 5 against Boston, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Advice: Woll will make his first start this postseason after Ilya Samsonov went 1-3 with a 3.31 GAA and an .883 save percentage in the opening four contests of the series. The 25-year-old Woll stopped all five shots he faced during Saturday's relief appearance in Game 4. He posted a mark of 0-2-1 versus the Bruins during the 2023-24 regular season, surrendering 12 goals on 89 shots. The Maple Leafs need a win in Game 5 to force Game 6 back in Toronto on Thursday.
