Player Notes

  • Henrik Lundqvist sets an NHL record with win
Henrik Lundqvist is the first goaltender in NHL history to post 13 consecutive 20-win seasons.

Advice: Lundqvist reached that historic milestone with the Rangers' 5-1 victory over Philadelphia on Tuesday. It was also his 425th career win, which is good for eighth place on the all-time list. "When it’s the first time in NHL history, it’s pretty cool," said Lundqvist. "I’m really proud. I’ve played with some really good players. I’m not going to lie, the first couple years, they were legends." Today, 3:48 am
  • Antti Raanta comes up short against Sharks
Antti Raanta allowed two goals on 22 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss against the visiting Sharks.

Advice: Raanta has allowed three or fewer goals in seven of his past nine appearances, but he has just two victories to show for his efforts due to a lack of offensive support. He hasn't had much luck in the shootout this season, either, dropping each of his past three shootouts. He is only worth using in the deepest of fantasy pools at this point. Yesterday, 8:56 pm
  • Aaron Dell picks up win in the shootout
Aaron Dell allowed two goals on 32 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout victory at Arizona.

Advice: Dell bounced back nicely after being trounced for six goals on 43 shots at Ottawa last time out on Jan. 5. He has allowed three or fewer goals in 12 of his past 14 appearances. While he isn't a fantasy option to rely upon regularly, he isn't a bad low-end No. 2 option in leagues allow daily moves. Dell is also a sharp option in DFS play when the matchup is favorable such as it was on Tuesday. Yesterday, 8:47 pm
  • Corey Crawford could miss rest of season
Corey Crawford (vertigo) could reportedly miss the rest of the season.

Advice: According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Crawford is dealing with vertigo-like symptoms for the second time in his career. It's an unfortunate turn of events for a Chicago team that has struggled with consistency this year. Crawford has arguably been the Blackhawks' best player this season. Yesterday, 8:32 pm

  • Marc-Andre Fleury allows 1 goal in L to NSH
Marc-Andre Fleury allowed one goal on 27 shots in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Nashville Predators.

Advice: It's a tough break for Fleury who was very good in this game. The Golden Knights goaltender blanked the Predators for 48 minutes, but he eventually allowed Kevin Fiala to score the only goal of the game in the third period. Fleury now owns a 9-3-2 record with a 1.77 goals-against-average and a .943 save percentage this season. Yesterday, 8:24 pm
  • Juuse Saros blanks Golden Knights on Tuesday
Juuse Saros turned aside all 43 shots he faced in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

Advice: The Predators got a strong performance from their number two goalie in this one. Kevin Fiala gave Nashville a 1-0 lead eight minutes into the third period. That's all the offense Saros needed to get his team the victory. The Predators netminder now has a 5-3-3 record with a 2.22 goals-against-average and a .930 save percentage this season. His fantasy outlook is a little bleak because Pekka Rinne will continue to get the majority of the starts for Nashville. Should Rinne suffer an injury, Saros would become a must-add in all fantasy formats. Yesterday, 8:21 pm
  • Jimmy Howard allows 4 goals in loss to Stars
Jimmy Howard allowed four goals on 26 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Advice: Two of the four goals Howard gave up came while the Stars were on the man-advantage. Howard has now dropped back-to-back decisions (he's given up eight goals during that stretch). The Red Wings goalie has a 14-14-6 record with a 2.73 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage this season. Yesterday, 8:08 pm
  • Ben Bishop stops 13 shots in win over Wings
Ben Bishop turned aside 13 of 15 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Advice: Bishop gave up the game's first goal just 44 seconds into the first period, but he managed to buckle down after that point. The Stars netminder has been victorious in three of his last four games. Bishop has a 20-12-2 record with a 2.51 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage this season. Yesterday, 8:03 pm
  • Frederik Andersen makes 40 saves in OTL
Frederik Andersen turned aside 40 of 42 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Advice: It looked like Andersen was going to come away with a shutout, but he allowed Alexander Steen to tie the game at one with under one minute remaining in regulation. Blues defenseman Vince Dunn then added the game-winning goal in overtime. Andersen now has a 22-13-3 record with a 2.67 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage this season. He has a 0-2-1 record in his last three games. Yesterday, 7:40 pm
  • Carter Hutton allows 1 goal in OT win vs. TOR
Carter Hutton allowed one goal on 31 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Advice: The only goal Hutton allowed came on a shorthanded breakaway by Connor Brown midway through the third period. The Blues managed to tie the game late before Vince Dunn added the game-winning goal in the overtime period. Hutton is now 4-0-1 in his last five contests. The win improved his overall record to 9-3-1 on the season. He'll enter his next appearance with a 1.78 goals-against-average and a .942 save percentage this season. With Jake Allen struggling, it'll be interesting to see if the Blues go back to Hutton in their next game. Yesterday, 7:37 pm
  • Brian Elliott pulled in loss to Rangers
Brian Elliott was pulled after allowing five goals on 21 shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the New York Rangers.

Advice: Two of the Rangers' three first period goals came on breakaways, so it's hard to blame Elliott for those. The Flyers netminder finished the second frame, but he didn't come out for the start of the third. Michal Neuvirth entered the game in relief of Elliott, and stopped all eight shots he faced. Elliott now has a 17-11-7 record with a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage this season. Yesterday, 7:22 pm
  • Jaroslav Halak allows 4 goals in loss to NJ
Jaroslav Halak allowed four goals on 42 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils.

Advice: The Islanders scored the game's first goal at the 1:39 mark of the first period, but that was the only offense they could muster, as the Devils scored four unanswered goals. It's the sixth time in his last seven games that Halak has given up four goals or more during an outing. The loss drops his record to 13-13-2. He has a 3.22 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage. Yesterday, 6:59 pm
  • Keith Kinkaid allows 1 goal in win over NYI
Keith Kinkaid allowed one goal on 26 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the New York Islanders.

Advice: The Devils goaltender got the start because Cory Schneider was out with an illness. Kinkaid gave up a breakaway goal to Anders Lee early in the first period, but he managed to shut the door the rest of the way. The win improves his record to 6-3-2 in the process. He'll enter his next appearance with a 3.10 goals-against-average and a .901 save percentage. Yesterday, 6:56 pm
  • Matt Murray (personal) remains day-to-day
Coach Mike Sullivan said that Matt Murray is still considered day-to-day.

Advice: Murray returned to practice on Tuesday after missing the last two games for personal reasons. "His status is the same. Matt's just going to be a day-to-day situation," said Sullivan. "We'll see how it goes tomorrow and we'll make decisions day-to-day." If Murray remains on the sidelines then Tristan Jarry will likely be back in goal on Wednesday night versus Anaheim. Yesterday, 3:26 pm
  • Devils recall goaltender Ken Appleby
Ken Appleby has been called up from the minors.

Advice: Appleby will dress as Keith Kinkaid's backup goaltender on Tuesday night versus the Islanders because Cory Schneider is dealing with an illness. Yesterday, 1:59 pm
  • Cory Schneider (illness) will sit Tuesday
Cory Schneider will miss Tuesday's game because of an illness.

Advice: Schneider was scheduled to start against the Islanders, but now Keith Kinkaid will get the nod instead. Adjust your lineup accordingly. Yesterday, 1:54 pm
  • Joonas Korpisalo back up with Blue Jackets
Columbus has brought up Joonas Korpisalo from the minors.

Advice: The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday following a five-day break. Korpisalo hasn't played since Dec. 31 behind number one netminder Sergei Bobrovsky. Yesterday, 1:38 pm
  • Lightning recall G Louis Domingue
Louis Domingue has been recalled by Tampa Bay.

Advice: Tampa Bay has also returned netminder Connor Ingram to Syracuse of the AHL. The Lightning don't return to action until Thursday from their break. Yesterday, 8:54 am
  • Anton Khudobin loses in OT to Dallas
Anton Khudobin stopped 29 shots in a 3-2 loss in overtime to Dallas on Monday afternoon.

Advice: Khudobin's record drops to 9-2-4 on the year. He has provided the Bruins with a chance to win more often than not this season and that's all you can ask from your backup netminder. He has a 2.40 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage through 16 appearances. Monday, 1:29 pm
  • Jonathan Quick likely to start Monday
Jonathan Quick was the first goalie off the ice Sunday and will likely start Monday's afternoon game against San Jose.

Advice: Quick was not great Saturday stopping only 18 of 21 shots in a loss to the Ducks so Monday will give him a chance to redeem himself. He is 19-14-2 this season with a 2.33 GAA and a .924 save percentage. Start him with confidence. Monday, 4:27 am
