    • Goal streak at three games
Stamkos scored a goal on two shots and added six hits, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating Thursday in a 5-3 loss to the Panthers in Game 3 of the Lightning's first-round series.

Advice: The 34-year-old has done his best to keep Tampa Bay afloat, finding the back of the net in three straight games to begin the playoffs, but his team still faces the prospect of getting swept after losing all three contests. Stamkos also has a couple career milestones in his sights -- he needs two more playoff goals for 50 in his caree, and one more playoff point for 100. He might need to reach both marks Saturday in Game 4 in order for the Lightning to stay alive. Rotowire.com Today, 8:04 am
    • Pulled in the second
Sorokin allowed three goals on 14 shots before he was replaced by Semyon Varlamov in the second period of Thursday's 3-2 Game 3 loss to Carolina. Sorokin was credited with the loss.

Advice: Looking to climb out of a 2-0 hole in the series, the Islanders elected to switch things up and turn to Sorokin in net for Game 3. The 28-year-old netminder allowed two goals on the first six shots he faced in the first period and a third tally to Sebastian Aho 7:14 into the second before he was pulled in favor of Varlamov. Sorokin seemed to be the Islanders' unquestioned starter after signing an eight-year extension prior to the season. However, he was outplayed down the stretch by Varlamov, who took over the top goaltending job heading into the playoffs. Sorokin went 25-19-12 during the regular season with a career-low .908 save percentage and 3.01 GAA. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:24 pm
    • Good start in playoffs
Lindholm registered an assist through 25:03 of ice time in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs in Game 3.

Advice: The stalwart defenseman has two helpers in this series after failing to pick up any points at all through 11 playoff games dating back to his previous two seasons with the Bruins. Lindholm took a step back offensively in the regular season, dropping from 53 points (10 goals, 43 assists) in 2022-23 to 26 points (three goals, 23 assists) this time around, though a lower-body injury caused him to miss nine games before he returned with two apples in a March 9 contest. Fantasy managers still hanging around for playoff pools should view Lindholm as a serviceable option as long as the B's remain in playoff contention. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:29 pm
    • Expected starter for Thursday
Sorokin is set to start at home against Carolina on Thursday, per Andrew Gross of Newsday.

Advice: Sorokin had a 25-19-12 record, 3.01 GAA and .908 save percentage in 56 appearances during the regular season. Semyon Varlamov was in net for the first two contests of the Islanders' first-round series and initially appeared to be the projected starter for Game 3 after being the first goaltender off the ice following Wednesday's morning skate, but coach Patrick Roy has indicated New York will make a change in goal. Carolina has a 2-0 series lead and has outscored the Islanders 8-4. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:59 am
    • Two helpers in OT loss
Hedman picked up two assists, one on the power play, in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Panthers in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Advice: All of Tampa Bay's scoring came in the first six minutes of the second period, as the team was otherwise stifled by Sergei Bobrovsky. Hedman had managed only one multi-point performance in the prior 15 games, including Game 1, but he'd been a consistent contributor with a goal and 10 points over that span. The Bolts may need the 33-year-old blueliner to find another gear in order to have a chance to bounce back from an 0-2 deficit in the series. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:33 am
    • Two points in Game 2
Trocheck scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist during Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals in Game 2 of the Rangers' first-round series.

Advice: Both points came in the first period as the Rangers jumped out to an early 2-1 lead. Trocheck posted a career-high 77 points in the regular season, and he's stayed hot with a goal and three points through the first two games of the playoffs. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:13 am
    • Undergoes shoulder surgery
Meier will have arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder but is expected to be ready for training camp ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, the Devils announced Tuesday.

Advice: Despite several injury concerns, Meier still managed to rack up 28 goals and 24 helpers in 69 games this season, including 17 power-play points. The Swiss international should be a near-lock to maintain a top-six role playing alongside Nico Hischier or Jack Hughes (shoulder) next season. It wouldn't be surprising to see Meier find his way back above the 30-goal and 60-point milestones provided he stays healthy. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:23 am

    • Falls to Toronto
Ullmark allowed three goals on 33 shots in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Maple Leafs in Game 2.

Advice: Ullmark was solid Monday, but an Auston Matthews goal on a breakaway in the third period would ultimately stick the 30-year-old netminder with a one-goal loss. Ullmark went 22-10-7 with a .915 save percentage and 2.58 GAA in the regular season. It appears that Boston will continue to alternate him and Jeremy Swayman in the playoffs, lining up Ullmark for a road start in Game 4 on Saturday. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:49 pm
    • Tending twine Monday
Ullmark will start Game 2 at home against Toronto on Monday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Boston will continue to alternate between Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman as they did for most of the regular season. Ullmark is 6-4-1 with a .923 save percentage since the start of March, though he ended the regular season with a loss against Ottawa. For the season, he went 22-10-7 with a 2.58 GAA in 40 appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:42 pm
