    • Not at practice Friday
Drouin (lower body) is still absent from practice Friday, Brennan Vogt of The-Rink.com reports.

Advice: Drouin missed all five games of the opening round versus Winnipeg and has yet to make an appearance at practice during the postseason. The 29-year-old had his best offensive season as an NHLer in 2023-24, picking up 56 points in 73 games, including 19 points on the power play. Drouin saw plenty of time on the top line alongside Nathan MacKinnon during the regular season. Look for Valeri Nichushkin, who had seven goals in five games during the first round, to remain on the top line until Drouin is ready to return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:40 am
    • Scores in Game 5
Kempe scored a goal on a team-high three shots in Wednesday's 4-3 Game 5 loss to Edmonton.

Advice: Kempe cut the Kings' deficit to one goal 17:42 into the third period, deflecting a Matt Roy shot past Stuart Skinner, though Los Angeles would ultimately come up short as Edmonton took the series in five games. Still, it was a strong effort from Kempe, who tallied four goals and five points in the series. He posted a career-high 75 points (28 goals, 47 assists) in 77 regular-season contests. • Falls to Edmonton
Rittich allowed four goals on 26 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 Game 5 loss to the Oilers.

Advice: Rittich and the Kings couldn't overcome Edmonton's three-goal second period in the series-deciding loss. The 31-year-old Rittich started the series' final two games, going 0-2-0 with an .872 save percentage after Cam Talbot struggled in the first three games. Rittich was solid in the regular season, going 13-6-3 with a .921 save percentage. Rittich could be looking for an opportunity to win a starting gig as a free agent this summer. • Earns series-clinching win
Skinner stopped 18 of 21 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 Game 4 victory over Los Angeles.

Advice: It wasn't the busiest game for Skinner, but the 25-year-old netminder did just enough for the one-goal win as the Oilers took the series 4-1. After allowing nine goals on 63 shots in his first two games of the series, Skinner looked better in his last three contests, posting a .951 save percentage. Edmonton will now get a few days off before they face the winner of the Vancouver-Nashville series in the second round. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:10 am
    • Set to start Wednesday
Rittich is slated to start on the road against Edmonton in Game 5 on Wednesday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Advice: Rittich is getting his second straight start after saving 12 of 13 shots in a 1-0 loss to Edmonton in Game 4 on Sunday. Edmonton has a potent offense, which ranked fourth in the 2023-24 campaign with 3.56 goals per game, so the Oilers will probably fire considerably more shots in the upcoming tilt. Rittich had a 13-6-3 record, 2.15 GAA and .921 save percentage in 24 regular-season contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:32 am
    • Set to face Kings
Skinner is expected to start at home against LA in Game 5 on Wednesday, per Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton.

Advice: Skinner earned a 33-save shutout over the Kings in Game 4 on Sunday, and he's stopped 60 of 61 shots (.984 save percentage) over his last two starts. That gives him a 3-1 record, 2.48 GAA and .919 save percentage in four playoff contests this year. The 25-year-old was streaky in the regular season, finishing with a 36-16-5 record, 2.62 GAA and .905 save percentage in 59 appearances, but Skinner seems to be on a roll with a chance to eliminate the Kings up for grabs. • Still not skating
Drouin (lower body) has yet to resume skating with the team but could still return during the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Coach Jared Bednar told reporters Wednesday, "Yeah. It fits the timeline. He's got a long way to go yet, (Drouin), because he hasn't hit the ice yet, right? He's still working on his rehab. The timeline was four weeks or less. We're still hoping for that. He's making progress, there's no question, so I'm hoping that he can get back. We'll see how long that other series goes and how much time we have," per Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Gazette.

Advice: Drouin has already been out of action for approximately two weeks. Prior to getting hurt, the 29-year-old center was stuck in a four-game goal drought during which he recorded three helpers, six shots and three blocks while averaging 19:01 of ice time. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:13 am
    • Two helpers in win
Forsberg provided a pair of assists, two shots on goal and four hits in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Canucks in Game 5.

Advice: Forsberg helped out on third-period tallies by Roman Josi and Alexandre Carrier to keep the Predators' season alive for another game. Through five playoff outings, Forsberg has been solid with two goals, four assists, 14 shots on net and 17 hits. The 29-year-old winger will continue to play a leading role on offense, which should also see him earn significant power-play minutes. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:13 pm
    • Adds assist in loss
Kucherov posted an assist and two hits in Monday's 6-1 loss to the Panthers in Game 5.

Advice: Kucherov stayed hot in the postseason with seven assists over five games, but he wasn't able to put a puck past Sergei Bobrovsky. The 30-year-old Kucherov had an excellent 2023-24 season despite the early playoff exit, earning 44 goals and 100 assists in 81 regular-season appearances. He should continue to be one of the top right wings in the NHL heading into 2024-25. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:46 pm
