      Trocheck had a goal and an assist in Thursday's 5-3 win over Carolina in Game 6.

      Advice: Trocheck was back to his usual form after a brief hiatus from the scoresheet in consecutive contests prior to Game 6. The second-line center deflected a shot from Artemi Panarin past Carolina's Frederik Andersen to give the Rangers life early in the second period after being down two goals. Trocheck would add a secondary assist on Chris Kreider's game-tying power-play marker in the third period. Trocheck also had three shots on net, four hits and a plus-1 rating in 23:14 of ice time. After setting a career high during the regular season with 77 points in 82 games, the 30-year-old center is up to six goals and eight assists in 10 contests this postseason.       Advice: Kreider was stellar Thursday night, providing three consecutive goals in the final frame to help the Rangers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. New York's captain jammed home a loose puck at the side of the net to put the Rangers within one in the third period. He then deflected a shot from Artemi Panarin past Carolina's Frederik Andersen to tie the game for New York. Kreider completed the comeback by netting the game-winning goal on a beautiful pass from Ryan Lindgren behind the net.       Advice: Orlov got on the board by helping out on a Martin Necas first-period tally that opened the scoring. It was the fifth time in six games this series that Orlov registered at least one point. The Russian defenseman also had one shot on goal and six blocks with a minus-1 rating in 19:01 of ice time. Unfortunately for the 32-year-old, he had an egregious turnover in which he failed to clear the defensive zone -- it led directly to a New York goal shortly after Carolina garnered a 2-0 lead early in the second period.       Svechnikov registered two assists in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers in Game 6.

      Advice: Svechnikov had a secondary assist on the power play and a primary helper at even strength in Thursday's defeat. The 24-year-old added one shot, one block, four hits and a minus-1 rating in 19:04 of ice time. The Russian forward did have six points in as many games this series, but he found the back of the net only once. He finished the postseason with 11 points in 11 contests.       MacDermid agreed to terms on a three-year, $3.45 million contract with New Jersey on Friday.

      Advice: MacDermid will remain with the Devils after joining the club at the trade deadline this last season. In his 16 appearances for the club, the 30-year-old winger managed just one point to go with 29 hits, two blocks and 50 PIM. The decision to give MacDermid a three-year deal does seem a little surprising when you consider he averaged a meager 4:22 of ice time.
