      Advice: Kreider earned his first multi-point effort of the playoffs by helping out on first-period tallies by Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck. The 33-year-old Kreider has been solid in the postseason with five points, 10 shots on net, nine hits and a plus-1 rating over five contests.       Trocheck scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and logged two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

      Advice: Both of Trocheck's points came on the power play as the Rangers opened a 3-1 lead in the first period. The 30-year-old center has found his game in the postseason with four goals and four assists over five outings. Trocheck continues to play on the second line at even strength, and he's also on the top power-play unit, where he's earned five of his eight points during the playoffs.       Advice: Hyman put the Oilers ahead 4-2 in the final minute of the second period, deflecting a Ryan Nugent-Hopkins shot past David Rittich for the eventual game-winning goal in the 4-3 series-clinching victory. Hyman's seven goals are tied with Valeri Nichushkin for the league lead so far in the playoffs.       Varlamov turned aside 32 of 37 shots Tuesday in a 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 5 of the Islanders' first-round series, with Carolina's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

      Advice: With their season on the line, the Isles came out flat and were down 2-0 before the four-minute mark in the first period. While Varlamov played well enough to allow his team to rally and tie things up by the second intermission, the third period belonged to Carolina. The veteran netminder posted a 2.70 GAA and .914 save percentage in his five playoff appearances, numbers very similar to his 2.60 GAA and .918 save percentage during the regular season.       Advice: As expected, Varlamov gets the nod after having put together a strong showing in Game 4. He stopped 42 of 44 shots on net in that must-win contest.
