• Shorthanded goal in loss
Trouba scored a shorthanded goal in Monday's 4-1 loss to Carolina in Game 5.

Advice: Trouba opened the scoring in the second period by firing a wrist shot past Carolina's Frederik Andersen but that was it for New York's offensive output in the tilt. It was Trouba's first goal of the postseason. The 30-year-old defenseman also had two shots on goal, three hits and four blocked shots in 18:38 of ice time. Trouba has four points (one goal) and a plus-1 rating in nine outings during the postseason. Rotowire.com Today, 9:33 am

  • Signs with SHL team
Thomson has signed a contract with with the Malmo Redhawks of the SHL.

Advice: Thomson wasn't able to catch on with the Senators after being selected by the team with the 19th overall pick in the 2019 Draft -- he appeared in 18 games with Ottawa from 2021-23, picking up five helpers and a minus-10 rating over that span, but he didn't see any action with the big club in 2023-24, instead spending the entirety of the campaign with AHL Belleville, recording 21 points in 67 contests. As a restricted free agent, the Senators still own Thomson's NHL rights, so they'll get the first crack at signing him if he returns to North America in the future. Rotowire.com Today, 8:24 am

Advice: Soucy received a two-minute penalty for cross-checking McDavid at the 20-minute mark of the third period in the Canucks' 4-3 win over the Oilers on Sunday. Noah Juulsen will probably replace Soucy in the lineup for Game 4 against Edmonton on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Soucy has four assists, zero shots on goal, nine blocked shots and 27 hits in nine contests this postseason. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:03 pm

  • Offers helper in win
Myers logged an assist, seven hits and four blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Oilers in Game 3.

Advice: The helper was Myers' first point in eight playoff games. The 34-year-old also saw a postseason-high 22:56 of ice time Sunday. He's been effective in a top-four role for the Canucks in 2023-24 -- Myers had 29 points, 110 hits, 136 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating over 77 regular-season appearances, his best scoring output in five years. He's likely to be more reliable in the physical categories than on the scoresheet moving forward. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:13 pm
  • Third goal of postseason
Carlo scored a goal in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Panthers in Game 4.

Advice: Carlo put the Bruins up by two in the first period with an unassisted goal. He threw a fluttering shot from the point that beat Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky over his right pad, but that was the end of Boston's offense for the night. In addition to scoring a goal, Carlo had two shots on net, one blocked shot, two hits and a plus-1 rating in 19:11 of ice time. So far this postseason, Carlo has three goals and an assist to go along with a plus-4 rating in 11 outings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:05 pm
  • Logs assist in Game 4
Schneider provided an assist and blocked four shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

Advice: Schneider snapped his eight-game point drought with the primary helper on Barclay Goodrow's tally in the second period. Through eight playoff contests, Schneider has eight shots on net, 14 hits, 14 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-2 rating. The 22-year-old defenseman remains in a bottom-four role, and after logging 19 points, 167 hits and 133 blocks in 82 regular-season outings, his contributions are likely to remain limited to physical play. • Deals assist in loss
Gustafsson posted an assist and three hits in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

Advice: Gustafsson snapped a five-game point drought when he helped out on a Will Cuylle goal in the first period. Through eight playoff contests, Gustafsson has three assists, six shots on net, 16 hits, five blocked shots and a minus-1 rating. He remains in a third-pairing role, so a large uptick in offense is unlikely to happen for the 32-year-old. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:38 pm
