  • Tough outing to end season
    Andersen made 19 saves on 23 shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers in Game 6.

    Advice: Carolina had two separate two goal leads in Thursday's loss, but Andersen and the Hurricanes couldn't keep the door shut. Carolina went up 2-0 early in the second period, but New York answered back less then a minute later after Andersen lost his footing in the crease. New York went on to dominate the third period -- Chris Kreider scored a natural hat trick to complete the comeback for the Rangers. Andersen finished the postseason with a 6-4 record alongside a 2.62 GAA and an .895 save percentage.   • Pens three-year contract
    MacDermid agreed to terms on a three-year, $3.45 million contract with New Jersey on Friday.

    Advice: MacDermid will remain with the Devils after joining the club at the trade deadline this last season. In his 16 appearances for the club, the 30-year-old winger managed just one point to go with 29 hits, two blocks and 50 PIM. The decision to give MacDermid a three-year deal does seem a little surprising when you consider he averaged a meager 4:22 of ice time. Looking ahead to next season, MacDermid probably shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of fantasy value given his limited minutes and lack of offensive upside.     Desharnais registered an assist, three hits and four blocked shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks in Game 5.

    Advice: The helper was Desharnais' first point since a two-assist game versus the Ducks on March 30. The 27-year-old defenseman has added 27 hits, 26 blocks, three shots on net and a minus-4 rating over 10 playoff appearances.     Advice: Kulak is up to three points over 10 playoff contests after helping out on a Mattias Janmark tally in the first period. The 30-year-old Kulak has provided steady defense from a third-pairing role, adding 17 blocked shots, 13 hits and a plus-1 rating.     Advice: Janmark snapped a seven-game point drought with his first-period tally. The 31-year-old forward remains in a fourth-line role, so it's not unusual to see him go long stretches without offense since the Oilers lean heavily on their top players.     Advice: Lindholm has points in three straight contests and six points over five second-round appearances versus the Oilers. His assist Thursday was timely, as it set up J.T. Miller for the game-winning goal with 33 seconds left in the third period. Lindholm has produced nine points, 22 shots on net, 30 hits and a plus-3 rating over 11 playoff outings. He has spent much of the postseason on the third line, but he was moved up to the second line in an effort to support the slumping Elias Pettersson, who shifted to the wing.
