    • Injured Monday
Hintz suffered an upper-body injury during Game 4 against Colorado on Monday.

Advice: Hintz logged just 6:35 of ice time before exiting the contest. He's tallied two goals and six points through 11 playoff appearances after racking up 30 goals and 65 points during the regular season. An update on his status should be available before Game 5 on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:06 pm

    • Guarding crease Monday
Shesterkin will get the starting nod for Game 5 at home against the Hurricanes, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports.

Advice: Shesterkin was riding a seven-game winning streak to begin the playoffs before Carolina finally beat him in Game 4 on Saturday. He allowed four goals on 31 shots in the loss, the first time this postseason he's allowed more than three. He's registered an impressive .925 save percentage while facing 160 shots this series. • Scores goal in Sunday's loss
Pastrnak scored a goal on the power play in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Florida in Game 4.

Advice: Pastrnak wired home a one-timer in the first period for his fourth goal of the postseason. The star winger also had two shots on goal, one blocked shot, two hits and a minus-1 rating in 19:44 of ice time. Pastrnak is up to four goals and four assists with a plus-1 rating in 11 contests during the playoffs. Pasta and the Bruins will look to stave off elimination in Game 5 on Tuesday in Florida. • Sets up opening goal
Heiskanen provided an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Avalanche in Game 3.

Advice: Heiskanen set up Logan Stankoven's first playoff goal at 18:39 of the first period. With four points over three games in the second round, Heiskanen is looking like himself again after his offense tailed off late in the first round. He's at three goals, six helpers, 26 shots on net, 20 blocked shots, 17 hits and a minus-6 rating through 10 playoff appearances. He can be a big factor on offense, though his surface stats defensively are likely to suffer from dealing with tough matchups. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:15 pm
    • Nabs helper Saturday
Hintz recorded an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Avalanche in Game 3.

Advice: Hintz had a four-point performance in Game 2, and he got back on the scoresheet with a helper on a Logan Stankoven empty-netter in Game 3. With six points through 10 playoff outings, it's fair to ask a bit more of Hintz on offense. The center has added 13 shots on net, 15 hits, six blocked shots and a minus-1 rating this postseason, though he remains firmly in a top-line role. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:12 pm

    • Takes first playoff loss
Shesterkin allowed four goals on 31 shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

Advice: The defeat snapped Shesterkin's nine-game winning streak, which included the first seven contests of the Rangers' playoff run. He allowed three goals in the first period, and while the Rangers covered that damage, Brady Skjei's power-play tally late in the third was decisive. Shesterkin also hadn't allowed more than three goals in any of his last 14 appearances dating back to March 28. The 28-year-old has been exceptional so far, but a few bumps in the road can be expected in the postseason. Look for him to be back between the pipes on home ice in Monday's Game 5. • Set to start Saturday
Shesterkin will start on the road against Carolina in Game 4 on Saturday, per Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer

Advice: Shesterkin will aim to earn his eighth straight victory to open the 2024 playoffs. He's posted a 2.01 GAA and a .935 save percentage across his first seven postseason wins this year. Although the Rangers have an opportunity to complete the second-round sweep of Carolina, the Hurricanes have kept things close, forcing the last two contests to go to overtime while firing a combined 104 shots on Shesterkin over that span. As a result, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 28-year-old netminder challenged often with the Hurricanes' playoff hopes on the line. Rotowire.com Saturday, 3:33 pm
    • Secondary assist in loss
Pastrnak had an assist in Friday's 6-2 home loss to the Panthers.

Advice: Pastrnak helped out on a Jake DeBrusk goal with a secondary assist in the Game 3 loss. Pasta also added three shots on goal, two hits and a plus-1 rating in 21:09 of ice time. Also, it was a positive to see Pastrnak feeling no ill effects after fighting Florida's Matthew Tkachuk at the end of Wednesday's Game 2. Pastrnak and the Bruins will attempt to even up the series at two games apiece Sunday in Boston. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:42 pm

    • Nets short-handed tally
Kreider scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3.

Advice: Kreider got New York on the board with a shorthanded marker midway through the second period, backhanding a feed from Mika Zibanejad under the pad of Pyotr Kochetkov. The 33-year-old Kreider now has goals in back-to-back games and four points in his last three contests. He's up to four goals and seven points through seven games in the postseason.
