  • Carl Hagelin will be a game-time decision
Carl Hagelin (lower body) was able to fully participate in Friday's practice.

Advice: Hagelin had joined the Penguins for previous practices, but he had been getting no or limited contact until now. Now that he's progressed to full contact, Penguins coach Mike Sullivan is calling Hagelin a game-time decision for Saturday's contest. It remains to be seen who would be scratched to make room for Hagelin if he does play. "Regardless of what we line we put him on, he brings that element of speed, his ability to stretch the ice, his pursuit game, forces turnovers all the time and we can create a lot of offense off of it," Sullivan said. "He’s a good penalty killer; he’s a solid two-way player. So we can use him in a number of different capacities, but I think his speed certainly helps us play the type of game that we want to play and we’re a more competitive team when he’s in the lineup." Anton Khudobin's job as Boston's backup goalie isn't secure going into next season.

"I can't have any doubts or reservations, so we're going to meet as a group to make sure we’re making the right decision. If someone passes Anton, whether it be Zane [McIntyre] or Malcolm [Subban], then we move in that direction. But we've been patient for the development standpoint to try and look internally. But it's a position we've sort of been chasing our tail on a little bit for a couple of years now. I'm very aware of it, do not run from it and I'd like it to be resolved."
