  • Scores in win
MacLean scored a goal on his lone shot in Monday's 4-1 victory over New Jersey.

Advice: After being ruled a game-time decision due to an illness, MacLean ultimately found the scoresheet with a third-period marker Monday, beating burying an Anders Lee feed off the rush to cap the scoring in the Islanders' 4-1 win. It's MacLean's first goal since March 7 -- he'd logged just four assists in his previous 18 contests. Overall, the 24-year-old center has four goals and eight points through 31 appearances in his rookie campaign while averaging 9:50 of ice time on the Isles' fourth line. Today, 10:08 am
  • Out for rest against Columbus
Svechnikov (rest) won't be in the lineup Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets, according to Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Advice: Svechnikov is one of several key regulars who won't play in Carolina's regular-season finale. They are all being rested before the start of the playoffs. Svechnikov produced 19 goals, 52 points, 144 shots on net and 142 hits in 59 appearances this campaign. Today, 10:05 am
  • Lone marker in finale
Meier scored a goal on two shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders.

Advice: Meier got the Devils on the board early in the second period, knocking home a rebound off Semyon Varlamov to cut the Islanders' lead to 2-1. The 27-year-old winger finished the year strong, tallying nine goals and 16 points in his last 14 games. However, it was a disappointing campaign overall for Meier -- he'll finish with 28 goals and 52 points after surpassing the 60-point threshold in each of his previous two seasons. Today, 10:03 am
  • Recalled from AHL
Comtois was recalled from AHL Chicago on Tuesday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Advice: Comtois hasn't seen any NHL action this season, but he's been solid in the AHL. The 25-year-old has registered 19 goals and 24 assists in 62 games played with AHL Chicago. Carolina may be resting some key players for the team's regular-season finale against Columbus on Tuesday, so Comtois could see his first NHL action of the season against the Blue Jackets. Today, 9:09 am
  • Won't play in season finale
Jenner (personal) won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus Carolina, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.

Advice: Per Blue Jackets reporter Dave Maetzold, coach Pascal Vincent said Monday that it would be up to Jenner as to whether or not he would play against the Hurricanes, and the 30-year-old vet has evidently decided to stay out of the lineup for the final game of the season. Jenner will finish the campaign having picked up 22 goals and 35 points through 58 contests. Today, 8:55 am
  • Two more points Monday
Nelson tallied a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.

Advice: Nelson picked up an assist on Kyle Palmieri's marker in the first period before extending the Islanders' lead to 3-1 in the second, swiping a loose puck past Jake Allen. The 32-year-old Nelson has points in four straight games, totaling three goals and three assists in that span. He's up to 33 goals and 67 points through 81 contests heading into Wednesday's regular-season finale versus Pittsburgh. Today, 8:15 am
  • Nets 40th goal
Stamkos scored a goal on a team-high seven shots in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres.

Advice: Stamkos got Tampa on the board early in the second period, beating Eric Comrie with a wrister off a Buffalo turnover to tie the game 1-1. The 34-year-old Stamkos has now reached the 40-goal threshold in seven of his 16 NHL seasons. He's been on fire down the stretch, tallying 11 goals and 14 points over his last nine outings. Stamkos will enter Wednesday's season finale with 79 points (40 goals, 39 assists) across 78 contests this year. Today, 8:02 am
  • Playing regular-season finale
Verhaeghe (upper body) will be in the lineup for the Cats' regular-season finale versus Toronto on Tuesday, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

Advice: Initial reports suggested that Verhaeghe wouldn't be cleared until the postseason, but it appears he is slightly ahead of schedule. Prior to his six-game absence, the 28-year-old Toronto native was rolling offensively with three goals on 16 shots and two assists across his last six outings. Verhaeghe should be in line for a top-six role unless coach Paul Maurice decides to limit his minutes for his first contest back. Today, 7:49 am
  • Two helpers in win
Engvall notched a pair of assists in Monday's 4-1 victory over New Jersey.

Advice: Engvall set up Jean-Gabriel Pageau's opening tally midway through the first period before adding a second assist on a Kyle MacLean goal in the third. It's just the second multi-point game of the year for Engvall (his first since Nov. 22), though he's been productive down the stretch with five points (two goals, three assists) in his last six contests. Overall, the 27-year-old winger has 10 goals and 28 points through 74 appearances this season. Today, 7:38 am
