Player Notes

  • Good start in playoffs
Lindholm registered an assist through 25:03 of ice time in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs for Game 3.

Advice: The stalwart defenseman has two helpers in this series after failing to pick up any points at all through 11 playoff games dating back to his previous two seasons with the Bruins. Lindholm took a step back offensively in the regular season, dropping from 53 points (10 goals, 43 assists) in 2022-23 to 26 points (three goals, 23 assists) this time around, though a lower-body injury caused him to miss nine games before he returned with two apples in a March 9 return. Fantasy managers still hanging around for the playoff pools should view Lindholm as a serviceable option as long as the B's remain in playoff contention. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 pm
  • Posts rare helper in loss
Edmundson recorded an assist in Game 3 against the Bruins on Wednesday, albeit in a 4-2 home loss.

Advice: Edmundson rushed toward the attacking zone after John Tavares sent a crisp pass his way from center ice, and it led to a Matthew Knies goal courtesy of a Mitch Marner helper. Still, since the Leafs are down 2-1 in the conference quarterfinals and averaging just two goals per contest, this team needs to pick up the pace offensively. Edmundson isn't expected to do much in that area as a third-pairing defenseman without a role on the power play. Rotowire.com Today, 7:14 pm
  • Headlines Black Aces call-ups
Brisson, Grigori Denisenko, Byron Froese, Kaedan Korczak, Dysin Mayo, Mason Morelli, Isaiah Saville, Christoffer Sedoff and Jesper Vikman were recalled from AHL Henderson on Wednesday, per CapFriendly.

Advice: Brisson posted eight points in 15 NHL outings this season. While none of these call-ups should be expected to see much playing time during the Golden Knights' playoff run, Brisson likely has the best chance of drawing in should injuries pile up. Henderson failed to qualify for the AHL playoffs, giving Vegas a chance to bolster its reserves. Rotowire.com Today, 6:50 pm
  • In goal for Game 3
DeSmith will start Game 3 on the road versus the Predators on Friday, Robby Stanley of NHL.com reports.

Advice: DeSmith is now the Canucks' top goalie since Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) is considered week-to-week. DeSmith struggled in Game 2 on Tuesday, allowing three goals on 15 shots in a 4-1 loss. The 32-year-old will likely need a bit more goal support from his team, as well as a better performance from himself between the pipes, in order for the Canucks to have a chance to regain a series lead. • Not playing Wednesday
Nylander (undisclosed) is not on the ice for warmups, indicating he won't play in Game 3 versus the Bruins on Wednesday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.

Advice: Nylander has been a game-time call throughout the playoffs, but he'll miss his third straight contest to open the Maple Leafs' first-round series. The 27-year-old's next chance to play is Saturday's Game 4 -- he may benefit from having an extra day to try to shake off the injury. Rotowire.com Today, 3:34 pm
