  • Ekman-Larsson would be honored to wear "C"
Oliver Ekman-Larsson would be honored to wear the "C" for Arizona going forward.

Advice: The Coyotes are looking for a new captain because they parted ways with Shane Doan this offseason. "That would be a huge honor," Ekman-Larsson said. "I didn't dream of that when I was a kid. It was a long, long way from that. It would be unbelievable." Although nothing is confirmed, making Ekman-Larsson the captain should be an easy decision for the Coyotes. Rotoworld.com 27 minutes ago
  • Logan Couture (mouth) is still pretty sore
Logan Couture says his mouth is still pretty sore after undergoing facial surgery.

Advice: The fact that he's still sore five months after taking a puck to the face is pretty telling. "There’s good days and bad days," Couture said. "My bottom teeth are still my real teeth. They’ve tried to keep them so I don’t lose them. I don’t know if I’ll be able to, they’re still pretty sore. My top teeth are all fake now – my front six, I think. So, it’s different. It just feels different in my mouth. But everything else with my face and all that is healed. I’m lucky that it’s an injury that didn’t affect my training, and hopefully won’t affect me going forward." It sounds like he'll be fine for the start of training camp next month. • Avs 'will be listening to offers' on Duchene
The Colorado Avalanche will continue listening to offers for Matt Duchene.

Advice: "I will be listening to offers. Right now it’s quiet on all fronts," GM Joe Sakic said. "But I’ll listen to offers on how we can get better. I’ll never name names but I’ll sit there and if something makes sense for the way we want to go, with our team, we’ll really look at that." It's pretty surprising that the Avalanche haven't dealt him away yet. With every day that goes by, it seems increasingly likely that Duchene will head to Colorado's training camp next month. • Travis Zajac (pectoral) is out 4-6 months
Travis Zajac will miss four to six months after undergoing pectoral surgery.

Advice: Depending on how his recovery goes, Zajac should be back sometime between December and February. "This morning, Travis Zajac underwent successful surgery to repair a torn left pectoral muscle that was suffered last week during off-season training," said GM Ray Shero. "The procedure was performed by the club's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jonathan L. Glashow." The 32-year-old had 14 goals and 45 points in 80 games with the Devils last season. The injury gives first overall pick Nico Hischier an even better chance of sticking with the team out of training camp. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:57 pm
  • Report: BOS offered Pastrnak 6 years, $36M
The Boston Bruins have reportedly offered David Pastrnak a six-year, $36 million contract, per the Boston Herald.

Advice: Pastrnak, who is currently a restricted free agent, is likely looking at the contract Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl got yesterday as a comparable (eight years, $8.5 million per year). The 21-year-old put up a career-high 34 goals and 70 points in 75 games with the Bruins last season. The highest cap hit on Boston's roster belongs to David Krejci ($7.25 million). The Bruins have just over $10.15 million in cap space. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:43 am
