  • Tristan Jarry enjoying backup role
Tristan Jarry is enjoying the experience of serving as the Penguins' backup goaltender in the playoffs.

Advice: Jarry is in that role because Matt Murray has been sidelined with a lower-body injury. While Jarry hasn't played at all in the postseason so far, with every game there is a chance that the Penguins will end up needing their backup goalie. "It’s definitely a cool experience," Jarry said. "It’s something, for me, that’s definitely been my goal. Make it up here, try to do the best I can. I think that’s something that I’ve been trying to accomplish this year, just working as hard as I can every day and getting better every day." Rotoworld.com Today, 7:25 am
  • Sharks look to re-sign Martin Jones
Re-signing Martin Jones is one of the Sharks' priorities over the summer, per GM Doug Wilson.

Advice: Jones has firmly established himself as San Jose's starter over the last two seasons and finished the 2016-17 campaign with a 2.40 GAA and .912 save percentage in 65 starts. He'll come with a $3 million cap hit in 2017-18 in the last season of his contract, but re-signing Jones will probably involve giving him a sizable raise beyond next season. • Craig Anderson should win Masterton Trophy
Craig Anderson has been named a finalist for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.

Advice: The award is presented annually to the player who exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Anderson had to leave the Senators for stretches to be with his wife, Nicholle, during her battle with throat cancer. He was superb when he played with a 25-11-4 record, a 2.28 goals-against average, a .926 save percentage and five shutouts in 40 games. The others finalists are Anaheim's Andrew Cogliano and Carolina's Derek Ryan, but with all due respect to them the award should go to Anderson. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:55 am
  • Robin Lehner needs better play around him
Robin Lehner faced plenty of rubber in 2016-17.

Advice: Buffalo finished last in the NHL in shots allowed, while giving up 34.3 per game. The opponents of the Sabres attempted the fourth-most shots, with 4,943 in the 82 games (an average of 60.3). Lehner faced 1,910 shots, which ranked him third overall among all netminders. He managed to post a .920 save percentage, but his 23-26-8 record shows that he needs more help from his teammates next season. Buffalo was outshot in 53 of 82 games and the team lost 21 contests by one goal. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:11 am
  • Matt Murray (LBI) still isn't skating
Matt Murray (lower body) hasn't resumed skating yet.

Advice: Murray was last on the ice for the pregame warmups in Game 1 of the Penguins' first round series on April 12. Given that it's been nearly two weeks since Murray last skated, we don't expect him to be available anytime soon. Rotoworld.com Monday, 1:22 pm
