Player Notes

  • John Gibson spends night on the bench
John Gibson was suffering from the stomach flu and diarrhea on Sunday.

Advice: Gibson remained on the Anaheim bench while Jonathan Bernier was pummeled in the Ducks net as Calgary put eight past him on only 25 shots. The Ducks next play Carolina at home on Wednesday and coach Randy Carlyle hopes that Gibson is 100 percent to go. We mean in net. Gibson is 8-7-4 with a 2.45 GAA and a .915 save percentage and should be in most lineups this week. Rotoworld.com 42 minutes ago
  • Jonas Gustavsson, Oilers fall to Wild in OT
Jonas Gustavsson and the Oilers fell 2-1 in overtime against Minnesota on Sunday night.

Advice: Gustavsson made 31 saves on 33 shots, but the Oilers' offense never got going against a hot Devan Dubnyk. Gustavsson falls to 1-1-1 this year with a 2.00 goals against average and .923 save percentage. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:20 pm
  • Devan Dubnyk helps Wild top Oilers in OT
Devan Dubnyk shined with 28 saves on 29 shots to lead the Wild to a 2-1 overtime victory over Edmonton on Sunday night.

Advice: After two straight overtime losses, Dubnyk took charge and quelled the Oilers' high speed attack led by Connor McDavid. The 30-year-old is now 10-6-3 with a 1.63 goals against average and .946 save percentage this season. He is 4-1 against his former team since they sent him to Minnesota. • Chad Johnson, Flames blow out Ducks
Chad Johnson allowed three goals on 30 shots Sunday night, but was driven to victory by the Flames offense in an 8-3 win over Anaheim.

Advice: Johnson has now won three straight games and the 30-year-old seems to have a handle on the starting goaltending gig based on a stellar start to the season. The veteran is 10-4-1 with a 2.11 goals against average and .928 save percentage. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:15 pm
  • Cam Ward shuts out Bolts in 1-0 OT thriller
Cam Ward steered aside all 30 shots he faced on Sunday as the Canes topped the Bolts 1-0 in an overtime thriller.

Advice: Ward, who came into the game on a four game losing skid, shut down the Bolts' high scoring offense to lead the Canes to a much-needed win. The topsy-turvy veteran is now 8-7-4 this season with a 2.09 goals against average and .924 save percentage. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:08 pm
