Player Notes

  • Pekka Rinne pulled in loss to Stars
Pekka Rinne allowed four goals on 18 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Advice: Rinne was yanked just over five minutes into the second period. It's his first regulation loss since Nov. 19. He has an 11-6-4 record with a 2.38 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage this season. Marek Mazanec entered the game in relief of Rinne. The Preds backup stopped 18 of 19 shots. • Jamie Benn scores three points in W over NSH
Jamie Benn scored a goal and two assists in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators.

Advice: Benn opened the scoring at the 9:55 mark of the first period and it was the 200th marker of his career. He also helped set up second-period goals by Jason Spezza and Tyler Seguin. The 27-year-old has eight goals and 24 points in 28 games. Antoine Roussel and Brett Ritchie also scored for the Stars. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:01 pm
  • Derek Ryan scores twice to lead Canes to win
Derek Ryan scored twice in Carolina's 3-1 win over Los Angeles on Thursday.

Advice: Oh man were these highlight reel goals. The first one was a beautiful give and go that started behind the Canes night and finished with a triple deke finish from Ryan. The second of the night by Ryan was equally spectacular with a give and go shorthanded play with Brock McGinn. He may be an old first year player but he is getting the job done right now with five points in his last five games. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:24 pm
  • Carey Price flips his lid in win over Devils
Carey Price stopped 19 of 21 shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils.

Advice: The interesting part of this game came late in the first period when Devils forward Kyle Palmieri lost an edge and crashed into Price. The Canadiens goalie was furious with Palmieri. Price punched Palmieri with his blocker once in the head and two more times in the body. The Habs netminder picked up four minutes for roughing on the play, while Palmieri got two minutes for interference. It's important to remember that Price has dealt with his share of injuries in the last few seasons. The 29-year-old has a 15-3-1 record with a 1.83 goals-against-average and a .940 save percentage. He's the best fantasy option at his position. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:04 pm
  • Taylor Hall picks up 2 points in loss to MTL
Taylor Hall scored a goal and an assist in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

Advice: Hall helped set up Adam Henrique's first period goal that tied the game at one, and he picked up a marker of his own with his team trailing 4-1 at the time. The 25-year-old has now put together three consecutive multi-point efforts. He has eight goals and 19 points in 18 games this season. He's the best fantasy option on the Devils' roster and he needs to be started in all formats right now. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:59 pm
