Player Notes

  • Nick Suzuki on six-game points streak
Nick Suzuki is on a six-game points streak and is only the second player in NHL history to start the season with that streak on the road.

Advice: The first one was current Minnesota Wild forward Victor Rask who did it as a Hurricane. Suzuki has two goals and six points thus far as the Canadiens return to Montreal for their home opener versus Calgary on Thursday. Suzuki is a must-start in fantasy at this time. • Blake Wheeler picks up 500th career assist vs. OTT
Blake Wheeler picked up his 500th career assist in Saturday’s 6-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

Advice: Wheeler actually had a career total of 502 assists after this game, as he had himself a three point night. The milestone was reached when he picked up the primary assist on a goal scored by Kyle Connor just over eight minutes into the second period. Wheeler went on to pick up two more assists in the third, helping the Jets come out of this game with a big win. So far this season Wheeler has two goals and five assists in five games played.  Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:56 pm
  • Dustin Brown pumps in power-play goal
Dustin Brown registered a power-play goal on Saturday's 4-2 road loss against the St. Louis Blues.

Advice: Brown, who was demoted from the top scoring line in place of the red-hot Adrian Kempe, didn't pout, but he responded like the veteran that he is. He lit the lamp on the power play during a 5-on-3 situation, while ending up with a minus-2 rating, a shot on goal and two hits in his 16:34 of ice time across 24 shifts. Brown will look to carry over the momentum into Sunday's rematch. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm
  • Craig Smith credited with game-winning tally
Craig Smith posted a goal with an assist in Saturday's 6-1 win against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Advice: Smith's goal early in the second period stood up as the game-winning tally, as he made it 2-1 at the time. Philly never did score again, so Smith gets credit. He also contributed with a plus-2 rating and two shots on goal in 15:00 of ice time across 19 shifts. Despite the multi-point performance, he is a bottom-six forward in Beantown and only worthy of fantasy consideration in the very deepest of pools at this point. The B's are back at it Tuesday against the visiting Penguins in the first of two in the set. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:06 pm
  • Multi-point game for Charlie Coyle in home rout
Charlie Coyle posted a goal with an assist in Saturday's 6-1 beatdown of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Advice: Coyle picked up an assist on what stood up as the game-winning tally for Craig Smith early in the second period, and he chipped in with his second goal of the season late in the second to make it 3-1. He also ended up with a plus-2 rating, two shots on goal, a minor penalty and a hit while winning four of his seven faceoff opportunities (57.1 percent). Coyle was scoreless in his first three games on the road, but he has enjoyed Philly goaltending and a little home cooking, posting two goals and an assist with a plus-3 rating over the past two against the Fly Guys. Still, his fantasy appeal remains limited to deeper pools at this point. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:58 pm
