  • Husso turns aside 31-of-36 shots in Blues loss

Advice: Husso was sensational in the opening period when he stopped all 15 shots as the Blues led 1-0 despite being outshot 15-3. But things fell apart in the second when Colorado scored four times including three in 102 seconds. Husso is 1-4 having lost his last four after a Game 1 shutout win in the opening round against Minnesota. He has given up 18 goals on 118 shots in the last four games and will need to be a lot better if the Blues hope to extend the series against Colorado in Game 5 Wednesday in Denver. • Frederik Andersen exits Monday's practice early
Frederik Andersen (lower body) left Monday's practice after participating for 20 minutes.

Advice: Andersen left on his own power and didn't appear to be dealing with anything, so presumably the plan from the beginning was to limit him to about 20 minutes. With that in mind, Andersen might not be quite ready to return, but clearly he's making some progress. In the meantime, Antti Raanta has been superb between the pipes in the 2022 playoffs. Carolina misses him badly. NBCSportsEDGE.com Monday, 8:58 am

Advice: Krug still hasn't been back at practice with the Blues, so it is unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. He has three assists, seven shots, four blocks and one hit in three outings this postseason.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Sunday, 9:05 am

  • Kuemper holds Blues to two goals in Game 3 victory
Darcy Kuemper stopped 29-of-31 attempts in Saturday's 5-2 Game 3 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Advice: Kuemper allowed first- and second-period goals to Colton Parayko and Ryan O'Reilly, respectively, but that would be all the damage on his watch. He was particularly sharp in a scoreless third period which saw the Blues make multiple thwarted runs at tying the game trailing 3-2 on the scoreboard. Kuemper has now allowed more than two goals just once in six starts this postseason. He'll look to provide another strong road effort when Game 4 drops on Monday. NBCSportsEDGE.com Saturday, 7:59 pm
  • Husso surrenders four goals in Game 3 relief duty
Playing for an injured Jordan Binnington, Ville Husso allowed four goals on 23 attempts in Saturday's 5-2 Game 3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.

Advice: Husso did not draw the start on Saturday, but he played almost the entirety of the contest due to an early injury exit for Jordan Binnington. While the Blues led 1-0 at the time the 27-year-old entered the contest, he was unable to hold that initial advantage, yielding a game-tying goal to Logan O'Connor a short time after coming into the game. Artturi Lehkonen and Nazem Kadri would hit him up for additional goals in the second period as the Avalanche worked out to a 3-1 advantage before hanging on for the win over the remainder of regulation. The final goal on Husso's line came when Gabriel Landeskog caught him a touch too far outside his crease in the third period. Husso has now allowed 13 goals over his last three playoff appearances. Binnington had been playing stellar hockey this postseason and any extended loss could end up sinking this series for the Blues. Game 4 drops on Monday in St. Louis as the Blues look to come back from a newfound 2-1 series deficit. NBCSportsEDGE.com Saturday, 7:54 pm
  • Ville Husso enters in place of injured Binnington
Ville Husso replaced an injured Jordan Binnington in the first period of Saturday's Game 3 matchup with the Colorado Avalanche.

Advice: Binnington left after taking the rough end of an in-net collision early in the first period. Enter Husso, who has struggled in allowing nine goals over his last two postseason appearances. He'll try to hold the fort while the Blues check out Binnington in the locker room (though has already allowed a Logan O'Connor goal as of this posting). NBCSportsEDGE.com Saturday, 5:48 pm
  • Darcy Kuemper projected to start in Game 3
Darcy Kuemper is projected to start in Game 3 Saturday night.

Advice: The Avalanche did suffer a 4-1 loss to St. Louis in Game 2, but it would still be surprising if Colorado switched goaltenders over that. Kuemper is 3-1 with a 1.98 GAA and .923 save percentage in five playoff starts this year. NBCSportsEDGE.com Saturday, 11:45 am
  • Brayden Point (LBI) will miss Game 3 on Sunday
