    • Undergoes finger surgery
Letang had surgery to repair a fractured finger and will need eight weeks to recover, the team announced Wednesday.

Advice: Letang's recovery timeline shouldn't impact his availability for the start of training camp in the fall. Despite the injury concern, the veteran blueliner played a full 82-game season this past year for the first time since 2010-11. While the Montreal native still managed to rack up 51 points in 2023-24, his productivity with the man advantage dropped significantly, as he managed just five power-play points compared to 21 the campaign before. • Minus-3 in loss
Kreider was on the ice for three goals against in Monday's 4-1 loss to Carolina in Game 5.

Advice: It was a forgettable night for Kreider as he failed to register a point and went minus-3 in the clash. No other Rangers player was on the ice for more than two goals against in Monday's defeat. After starting the postseason with points in six of seven games, Kreider has now failed to find the scoresheet in consecutive contests. The 33-year-old did have two shots on goal and four hits in 18:51 of ice time in his latest tilt. Kreider and the Rangers will have another chance to eliminate the Hurricanes in Game 6 on Thursday. Pastrnak scored a goal on the power play in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Florida in Game 4.

Advice: Pastrnak wired home a one-timer in the first period for his fourth goal of the postseason. The star winger also had two shots on goal, one blocked shot, two hits and a minus-1 rating in 19:44 of ice time. Pastrnak is up to four goals and four assists with a plus-1 rating in 11 contests during the playoffs. Pasta and the Bruins will look to stave off elimination in Game 5 on Tuesday in Florida. • Secondary assist in loss
Pastrnak had an assist in Friday's 6-2 home loss to the Panthers.

Advice: Pastrnak helped out on a Jake DeBrusk goal with a secondary assist in the Game 3 loss. Pasta also added three shots on goal, two hits and a plus-1 rating in 21:09 of ice time. Also, it was a positive to see Pastrnak feeling no ill effects after fighting Florida's Matthew Tkachuk at the end of Wednesday's Game 2. Pastrnak and the Bruins will attempt to even up the series at two games apiece Sunday in Boston. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:42 pm
    • Nets short-handed tally
Kreider scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3.

Advice: Kreider got New York on the board with a shorthanded marker midway through the second period, backhanding a feed from Mika Zibanejad under the pad of Pyotr Kochetkov. The 33-year-old Kreider now has goals in back-to-back games and four points in his last three contests. He's up to four goals and seven points through seven games in the postseason. • Draws helper in Game 1
Pastrnak provided an assist, four shots on goal, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 5-1 win over the Panthers.

Advice: Pastrnak's shot caused some chaos in front of Sergei Bobrovsky, who was able to turn it aside. Pavel Zacha then touched it over to Morgan Geekie, who ripped it in for the Bruins' first goal. Pastrnak had some big moments in the first round -- including the game-winning goal in Game 7 -- but he's been quiet by his standards with six points through eight playoff contests. The winger has added 27 shots on net, 21 hits and a plus-2 rating while playing in his usual top-six role. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:12 pm
    • Contributes two power-play helpers
Kreider logged two power-play assists and two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Advice: Kreider earned his first multi-point effort of the playoffs by helping out on first-period tallies by Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck. The 33-year-old Kreider has been solid in the postseason with five points, 10 shots on net, nine hits and a plus-1 rating over five contests. He provides a little grit and a strong net-front presence both on the power play and at even strength, in addition to playing significant shorthanded minutes. Rotowire.com May 5, 4:51 pm
