    • Notches helper
Trouba provided an assist and two hits in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

Advice: Trouba helped out on an Alexis Lafreniere tally in the third period. Offense hasn't been a strong suit for Trouba in the playoffs -- he's earned three assists to go with 33 hits, 41 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-1 rating over eight contests. The 30-year-old defenseman was a little shaky in his own zone Saturday, but he continues to fill a veteran role on the Rangers' blue line. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:33 pm
    • Takes first playoff loss
Shesterkin allowed four goals on 31 shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

Advice: The defeat snapped Shesterkin's nine-game winning streak, which included the first seven contests of the Rangers' playoff run. He allowed three goals in the first period, and while the Rangers covered that damage, Brady Skjei's power-play tally late in the third was decisive. Shesterkin also hadn't allowed more than three goals in any of his last 14 appearances dating back to March 28. The 28-year-old has been exceptional so far, but a few bumps in the road can be expected in the postseason. Look for him to be back between the pipes on home ice in Monday's Game 5. • Keeps season alive
Andersen stopped 22 of 25 shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rangers in Game 4.

Advice: Andersen got the nod for Game 4 after Pyotr Kochetkov couldn't turn the Hurricanes' fortunes around in Game 3. Andersen didn't have a great performance Saturday, but he did just enough to keep Carolina's season alive for one more contest. The 34-year-old is now 5-3 with a 2.63 GAA and an .897 save percentage through eight playoff outings. It won't get easier moving forward, as the Hurricanes are still facing elimination as the series shifts back to New York for Game 5 on Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:24 pm
    • Expected to face Rangers
Andersen is set to guard the home goal against the Rangers in Game 4 on Saturday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.

Advice: Andersen will return to the crease after Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 22 of 25 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers in Game 3 on Thursday. The 34-year-old Andersen has a 2.58 GAA and an .899 save percentage across seven playoff outings this year. The Rangers have made life difficult for opposing goaltenders by averaging 3.71 goals per contest during the 2024 postseason. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:37 pm
    • Set to start Saturday
Shesterkin will start on the road against Carolina in Game 4 on Saturday, per Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer

Advice: Shesterkin will aim to earn his eighth straight victory to open the 2024 playoffs. He's posted a 2.01 GAA and a .935 save percentage across his first seven postseason wins this year. Although the Rangers have an opportunity to complete the second-round sweep of Carolina, the Hurricanes have kept things close, forcing the last two contests to go to overtime while firing a combined 104 shots on Shesterkin over that span. As a result, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 28-year-old netminder challenged often with the Hurricanes' playoff hopes on the line. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:33 pm
    • Two points, OT winner
Panarin notched a goal and an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime victory over the Hurricanes in Game 3.

Advice: Panarin set up Alexis Lafreniere's go-ahead tally early in the third period before eventually scoring the game-winner 1:43 into overtime, deflecting a Vincent Trocheck feed between his legs and past Pyotr Kochetkov to give the Rangers the win in Game 3. The 32-year-old Panarin now has three goals and eight points in his last four games. He's up to nine points (four goals, five assists) through seven postseason contests. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:17 am
    • Stellar again in Game 3
Shesterkin stopped 45 of 47 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Carolina in Game 3.

Advice: Shesterkin was the difference maker Thursday as the Rangers picked up the overtime win despite being outshot 47 to 25. The 28-year-old netminder's now stopped 99 of 104 shots in his last two starts, improving to a perfect 7-0-0 in the postseason with an outstanding .942 save percentage and 1.78 GAA. Shesterkin will almost certainly be back between the pipes Saturday with the Rangers looking for a sweep in Game 4 on the road. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:10 am
    • Starting Game 3
Shesterkin will guard the road goal versus the Hurricanes in Thursday's Game 3, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Shesterkin is 6-0 with a 2.01 GAA and a .929 save percentage over six playoff contests. He earned a 28-save shutout win in his lone appearance in Carolina during the regular season, and he's gone 4-1-0 with 13 goals allowed over five total contests versus the Hurricanes in 2023-24. • Four points in Game 2
Barkov tallied two goals and two assists in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Bruins in Game 2.

Advice: Barkov powered the Panthers' offense in the convincing series-tying victory, putting Florida ahead 2-1 with a tally in the second period before adding another goal and two helpers in the third. The 28-year-old Barkov now has four goals and eight points in his last three games after going scoreless in his previous three contests. He's up to 10 points (four goals, six assists) through seven postseason contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:39 pm
