    • Awakens on offense
Pavelski scored a goal on three shots, dished a power-play assist and added two hits in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.

Advice: Pavelski opened the scoring at 9:03 of the first period and helped out on Miro Heiskanen's second-period marker. The goal was his first of the postseason, and this was Pavelski's first multi-point effort since March 28. He has three points, 17 shots on net, 23 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 12 contests. Getting the 39-year-old going on offense would be a nice boost for the Stars, who will try again to close out the Avalanche in Game 6 on Friday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:50 pm

    • Leaky in Game 5 loss
Oettinger stopped 22 of 27 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.

Advice: Oettinger let a couple of one-goal leads slip away, and the Avalanche rallied ahead for good in the third period. This loss snapped his three-game winning streak, but the Stars are still ahead 3-2 in the series. Oettinger has won four of his five road games this postseason, allowing a total of seven goals in those contests, so he remains a strong option heading into Game 6 on Friday in Colorado. • Slated to start Wednesday
Oettinger is set to guard the home goal in Wednesday's Game 5 against the Avalanche, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.

Advice: Oettinger is aiming for his fourth consecutive victory after stopping 80 of 85 shots (.941 save percentage) across his previous three wins over Colorado. The netminder has a 7-4 record, 2.02 GAA and .923 save percentage in 11 playoff appearances this year. While Oettinger has been great, the Avalanche have a potent offense, so it wouldn't be surprising if they prove to be quite the challenge for the 25-year-old goaltender as Colorado fights to avoid elimination. • Contributes assist in win
Ekholm recorded an assist, four shots on goal, three blocked shots, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Canucks in Game 4.

Advice: Ekholm has three goals and two assists over four contests in the second round after being limited to one helper in the Oilers' 4-1 series win over the Kings in the first round. The defenseman set up Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' second-period tally Tuesday. Ekholm is up to six points, 20 shots on net, 12 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over nine playoff appearances in a top-pairing role. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:26 pm
    • Provides helper in win
DeBrusk recorded an assist, five hits and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.

Advice: DeBrusk is warming up on offense with two goals and three assists over five games in the second round. The 27-year-old winger set up a Morgan Geekie tally in the first period. DeBrusk is up to 10 points, 23 shots on net, 47 hits and a minus-4 rating through 12 playoff appearances. He should continue to see top-six minutes, though it appears he's benefiting from a larger role while Brad Marchand (upper body) is unavailable. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:21 pm

    • Keeps series going
Swayman stopped 28 of 29 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.

Advice: Swayman snapped a three-game losing streak with the effort, which saw him allow the lone goal to Sam Reinhart in the second period. The Bruins still face an uphill battle, but it's likely to be Swayman who will have the chance to keep their season going. He's 6-5 over 11 playoff outings and has allowed two or fewer goals in eight of those contests. Game 6 is Friday in Boston. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:10 pm
    • Starting Game 5
Swayman will protect the road goal versus the Panthers in Tuesday's Game 5, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

Advice: Swayman has allowed 12 goals during his three-game losing streak, but head coach Jim Montgomery is sticking with the 25-year-old with the Bruins' season on the line. Through 10 playoff outings, Swayman has a 2.28 GAA and a .930 save percentage, though he has lost two of his last three road games. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:34 pm
    • Minus-3 in loss
Kreider was on the ice for three goals against in Monday's 4-1 loss to Carolina in Game 5.

Advice: It was a forgettable night for Kreider as he failed to register a point and went minus-3 in the clash. No other Rangers player was on the ice for more than two goals against in Monday's defeat. After starting the postseason with points in six of seven games, Kreider has now failed to find the scoresheet in consecutive contests. The 33-year-old did have two shots on goal and four hits in 18:51 of ice time in his latest tilt. Kreider and the Rangers will have another chance to eliminate the Hurricanes in Game 6 on Thursday. • Goal and assist in win
Necas scored a goal and added an assist in Monday's 4-1 victory over the Rangers in Game 5.

Advice: Necas had a secondary helper on Jordan Martinook's third-period tally before scoring an empty-net goal in Monday's win. It's the first time since Game 1 of Carolina's first-round series against the Islanders that Necas has registered two points in a game. The 25-year-old forward also had two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in 15:56 of ice time. Necas is up to three goals and five assists in 10 contests this postseason. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:07 am
