    • Undergoes finger surgery
Letang had surgery to repair a fractured finger and will need eight weeks to recover, the team announced Wednesday.

Advice: Letang's recovery timeline shouldn't impact his availability for the start of training camp in the fall. Despite the injury concern, the veteran blueliner played a full 82-game season this past year, the first time he has done that since 2010-11. While the Montreal native still managed to rack up 51 points this season, his productivity with the man advantage dropped significantly, as he managed just five power-play points compared to 21 the campaign before. • Pulled from Sunday's loss
Skinner allowed four goals on 15 shots in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.

Advice: Skinner played the first two periods and saw a little more ice time late in the third after some gamesmanship from head coach Kris Knoblauch. Skinner's play remains a serious concern -- the Canucks have fired 58 shots at him over three contests, but he's let in 12 goals while losing two of those games. The Oilers were able to cover the 25-year-old in the first round, but they've had less success in that regard against the Canucks. Per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic, Knoblauch wouldn't commit to sticking with Skinner for Game 4 on Tuesday. Calvin Pickard made three saves in Sunday's contest, but veteran Jack Campbell could also be an option should the Oilers get desperate in the next week. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:22 pm
    • Guarding cage Sunday
Skinner will get the starting nod at home against Vancouver on Sunday, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Skinner helped tie the series at 1-1 by stopping 16 shots in Friday's Game 2 victory. He's struggled so far against the Canucks, yielding eight goals on 43 shots in two contests. Skinner has won five of his seven postseason starts despite registering a lackluster .888 save percentage in the process. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:07 pm
    • Wins Game 2 in overtime
Skinner stopped 16 of 19 shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Advice: Skinner had another poor outing, but the Oilers' dynamic duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl made up for it with four points each. Over the last three games, Skinner has allowed 11 goals on 64 shots, but he's managed to win two of those contests. The Oilers managed to break the Canucks' home-ice advantage -- the series is tied at 1-1 heading back to Edmonton for Game 3 on Sunday and Game 4 on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:08 pm
    • Tending twine Friday
Skinner will get the starting nod for Game 2 in Vancouver on Friday, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Advice: Skinner has been shaky this postseason and was rocked for five goals on just 24 shots in a loss to the Canucks in Game 1 on Wednesday. Through six playoff games, he's registered an .893 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA. On the bright side, Skinner hasn't taken consecutive losses since Feb. 21 and 24. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:49 pm
    • Stumbles late in Game 1
Skinner allowed five goals on 24 shots in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Canucks in Game 1.

Advice: Skinner held Vancouver to one goal through most of the first two periods before Elias Lindholm cut the lead to 4-2 late in the second. Skinner then allowed three more tallies in the third in the eventual one-goal defeat. The 25-year-old Skinner has been shaky at times this postseason -- he's posted an .893 save percentage through his first six playoff games. Nonetheless, Skinner will likely remain between the pipes for the Oilers in Game 2 on Friday. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:09 am
    • Set to start Wednesday
Skinner is expected to guard the road goal in Game 1 against Vancouver on Wednesday, per Thomas Drance of The Athletic.

Advice: Skinner earned a respectable 2.59 GAA and .910 save percentage in five first-round contests versus LA. However, he might have a difficult time against the Canucks after posting a record of 0-3-0 with a 4.60 GAA and an .830 save percentage across four regular-season appearances versus Vancouver. It wouldn't be surprising to see Skinner challenged regularly by the Canucks, but the Oilers have averaged 4.40 goals per game in the postseason, so they're capable of putting themselves in a position to win even when their goaltending isn't the best. • Notches assist in win
Fox logged an assist, two blocked shots, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Advice: Fox has a helper in each of the last three games after he was held off the scoresheet in the first two contests of the playoffs. The defenseman has added four shots on net, 15 blocked shots, five hits and a plus-2 rating. Fox will see a heavy workload on the Rangers' top pairing and first power-play unit, but he may have to focus more on defense since the Hurricanes boast a strong top six. Rotowire.com May 5, 4:53 pm
