    Mittelstadt signed a three-year, $17.25 million deal with Colorado on Tuesday.

    Advice: Mittelstadt put up solid numbers for the Avs after being acquired at the trade deadline last season. The 25-year-old center garnered four goals on 25 shots to go with six helpers, 12 hits and eight blocks in 18 regular-season appearances. Previously scheduled to be a restricted free agent this offseason, Mittelstadt avoids a protracted contract negotiation by getting this deal done early. Heading into the 2024-25 campaign, the Minnesota native should be capable of reaching the 50-point threshold for a third consecutive season and even challenging for 60-plus.     DeMelo inked a four-year, $19.6 million contract with Winnipeg on Tuesday.

    Advice: DeMelo was able to get a new deal signed ahead of the start of free agency Monday, tying himself to the Jets for another four seasons. Last year, the veteran blueliner played in all 82 regular-season contests while putting up three goals, 28 assists and 83 shots. While DeMelo is never going to be a Norris Trophy candidate, he should be able to replicate that production next season, making him a decent mid-range fantasy target.     Bongiovanni agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Ottawa on Tuesday.

    Advice: Bongiovanni has yet to make his NHL debut after originally signing with Winnipeg coming out of Quinnipiac University. In the minors this season, the 24-year-old center notched 16 goals and nine assists in 48 combined games for AHL Manitoba and AHL Belleville. At this point, the Michigan native looks like a long shot to become a full-time NHL player, though his new two-way deal will allow him to be on the list of potential call-ups during the 2024-25 campaign.     Advice: Janmark had four points over the last four games, but the Oilers weren't able to complete a comeback for the ages. He's one of seven NHL-level unrestricted free-agent forwards for the Oilers, and it's unclear if he'll re-sign with the team.
