• Eller will leave bubble for birth of his child
At some point, Lars Eller will leave the bubble in Toronto to be with his wife for the birth of their child.

Advice: Eller's wife is expected to give birth on Aug. 8, which is during the round robin. He considered opting out entirely, but decided to go this route instead. "A lot of thoughts going into the decision. Weighing the pros and cons. We're going to have a new addition to our family in a couple of weeks. But at the same time, I want to be with my team and win another Cup. We're working on making the necessary arrangements so I can be there for the birth and then come back to the bubble after that," Eller said. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:42 pm
  • Players nominate Artemi Panarin for Ted Lindsay
Artemi Panarin is among the three nominees for the Ted Lindsay Award.

Advice: The Ted Lindsay Award honors the league's most valuable player as determined by the players. Panarin had 32 goals and 95 points in 69 contests. Those were career-high goals and points totals for Panarin despite the pandemic ending the regular season prematurely. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:34 pm
  • Nathan MacKinnon is a Ted Lindsay Award finalist

  • Fleury, Lehner will both start in round robin
Marc-Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner will alternate between exhibition/round robin games.

Advice: Golden Knights coach Pete DeBoer hasn't worked out the specifics, so it might not be a completely even split, but Fleury and Lehner will both get some ice time. That will bring them both up to speed ahead of the playoffs proper. How each of them do during those round robin games might also determine which serves as the starter in the playoffs. • Ducks re-sign Troy Terry to three-year deal
Troy Terry has signed a three-year, $4.35 million contract extension with the Anaheim Ducks.

Advice: Terry was coming off his entry-level contract. He had four goals and 15 points in 47 games this season. He would have been a restricted free agent this offseason and will still be one after this contract expires. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:04 pm
  • Matt Martin (personal) misses practice Tuesday
Matt Martin didn't participate in Tuesday's practice.

Advice: Islanders coach Barry Trotz isn't allowed to specify why Martin didn't practice on Tuesday due to the NHL's policy, but he did give a pretty strong hint. He said that Martin was absent to take care of personal stuff and that "it's all positive." Rotoworld.com Today, 12:37 pm

  • Shea Weber should practice on Wednesday
Canadiens coach Claude Julien believes Shea Weber will practice on Wednesday.

Advice: Weber wasn't a participant in Tuesday's practice, but he did skate. Teams aren't allowed to provide injury of illness information, but if he's already likely to practice on Wednesday, then this doesn't sound serious. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:32 am
  • Re-signing Dylan Strome might be challenging
The salary cap staying flat for the 2020-21 campaign will make it tougher for Chicago to re-sign Dylan Strome after the playoffs.

Advice: Strome is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason. He'll be coming off his entry-level contract and is do for a sizable raise after scoring 57 points in 2018-19 and 38 points in 58 contests this season. "You've got to show what you're worth and you've got to show why a team should sign you," Strome said. "Obviously I'm a restricted free agent, so hopefully I'll be back here [next season], but you don't know." There's a chance Chicago will trade his rights to make their cap situation easier, but there will be ways for them to re-sign Strome and stay under the ceiling. The big X-Factor with Chicago in 2020-21 will be their goaltending. Corey Crawford's $6 million cap hit will be off the books, but the Blackhawks won't have a proven starter without him, so how much they potentially spend on an establish goaltender over the offseason will go a long way towards determining how much space is left for players like Strome. • Shea Weber unable to practice on Tuesday
Shea Weber couldn't practice with the Canadiens on Tuesday.

Advice: The NHL's current policies prevented Canadiens coach Claude Julien from giving any further information. That said, Weber was able to skate after the practice. It seems likely that if Weber was dealing with COVID-19, he would have been kept off the ice entirely. So Weber is probably dealing with an injury, but of course all we can do is speculate. • Laurent Brossoit is unfit to play
Laurent Brossoit is listed as "unfit to play."

Teams aren't allowed to comment so there's no way of knowing the circumstances or seriousness of an issue. All we can tell you is that Brossoit is missing training camp activities for a second straight day. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:06 am

Yakov Trenin (unfit to play) was on the ice Tuesday.

Advice: Trenin was listed as unfit to play at the start of training camp on Monday. The NHL's current policy is that any player who is injured or sick is simply called "unfit to play" and no further details are provided. In this case though, it seems likely that Trenin is dealing with an injury because if he had COVID, he would presumably be quarantined for more than a day. Of course, that's just speculation. • Colton Parayko back on the ice Tuesday

Advice: Parayko missed practice Monday as well as Robert Bortuzzo. Backup goaltender Laurent Brossoit was not on the ice Monday.

Advice: Brossoit was one of four Jets who were part of the 33 man squad, who did not make it on the ice. Defensemen Anthony Bitetto, Nelson Nogier and Logan Stanley were the others. He had 13 goals and 27 points with a plus-26 rating in 65 games.this season. Playing on the second unit with Kadri and Burakovsky only adds to his value. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:54 am
  • Andrew Shaw opts out with concussion issues
Andrew Shaw has opted out of playing the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

Advice: Shaw suffered a concussion and last played on November 30. He feels that he needs the extra five months to recover from being concussed and it is not a wise idea to return early. “We have come to the difficult decision that these extra five months until next season would be great for my health and recovery. I look forward to being back next season better and stronger than ever,” said Shaw in the lengthy Instagram post. “There’s nothin I would love more then to be back out on the ice with the boys battling for Lord Stanley. I’ll be cheering my teammates on and supporting the Blackhawks through this run! Love you boys and miss you like crazy.” Shaw has three goals and 10 points in 26 games before his season was ended. • Ilya Samsonov not at practice Monday
Ilya Samsonov was not at practice Monday.

Advice: He was joined on the sidelines by Michal Kempny and Alex Alexeyev. Samsonov is expected to battle Braden Holtby for the starting job in net.
