• Andrew MacDonald likely to miss 2 more games
Andrew MacDonald (lower body) took part in Monday's practice.

Advice: Unfortunately MacDonald won't be available on Tuesday and he doesn't think he'll be able to return on Wednesday either. That's unfortunate for the Flyers given that they're also now missing defenseman Radko Gudas, who received a 10-game suspension. The situation might lead to Mark Alt playing on Tuesday. • Skjei enjoyed getting mentioned on SNL
Brady Skjei found himself as the subject of a Saturday Night Live skit where an interviewer refuses to attempt to pronounce his last name.

Advice: Skjei was apparently contacted ahead of time as SNL prepared to do the skit, but he couldn't participate so he was instead played by Alex Moffat. Skjei still was able to see the skit though. "I thought it was hilarious," Skjei said. "It was kind of weird seeing your jersey on SNL. He did a great job, Chance the Rapper (who played the interviewer for the skit). I thought it was really funny. It was a pretty cool experience." Skjei's name is pronounced shay. • John Moore leads blueliners in 3v3 OTG
John Moore has surprisingly excelled in three-on-three overtime hockey.

Advice: Moore isn't seen as an offensive defenseman, but he's managed to score six overtime goals since the NHL adopted the three-on-three overtime structure in 2015-16. That's the most overtime goals of any defenseman over that span, topping Brent Burns and Shayne Gostisbehere, who have recorded four each. Keep in mind that Moore has 30 total goals since the start of 2015-16 while Gostisbehere has 76 and Burns has 102, so that highlights how surprising it is that Moore would top that list. For Moore's part though, he's downplayed his accomplishment. "I’m really fortunate to get the opportunity to get out there and play with some great players," Moore said. "I’m the recipient of some selfless hockey by a lot of guys." Rotoworld.com Today, 6:23 am
  • Andrej Sekera won't return until December
Andrej Sekera (knee) was able to practice with the Oilers on Monday.

  • M. Nutivaara already tops rookie points total
Markus Nutivaara registered two assists in Columbus' 3-2 win over Buffalo on Monday.

Advice: Nutivaara has eight assists in 16 games this season. That's already one point more than his seven in 66 contests during his 2015-16 rookie campaign. His playing time remains limited by defenseman standards at 14:20 minutes per game, but the 23-year-old did have some offensive upside to begin with, so his higher production this season hasn't come out of nowhere. He's probably not going to maintain his current pace, but 20-30 points in 2017-18 doesn't seem like an unrealistic projection. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:25 am
  • Cam Fowler scoreless in return from IL
Cam Fowler (knee) was activated from the Injured List and he went scoreless in 23:25 of ice time on Monday in San Jose.

Advice: Fowler took just one shot in 23:25 of ice time, but he was able to post a plus-1 rating with two blocked shots. He missed 12 games due to his knee ailment. The Ducks are starting to get key components back after a tough start due to several injuries. It's safe to get him back into the active lineup as he did not show any ill effects of his injury and played with no apparent restrictions. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:51 pm
  • Brandon Montour picks up two assists
Brandon Montour posted two assists with a plus-2 rating, four blocked shots and four hits in Monday's 3-2 shootout win at San Jose.

Advice: Montour has picked up the pace with two goals, five points and a plus-3 rating over the past six outings. He is seeing time on the power play lately and enjoying a nice run of success. The rearguard is enjoying a nice two-week run of success and has emerged as a useful option in plenty of fantasy pools. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:33 pm
  • Dalton Prout scratched as Devils face Wild
Dalton Prout will be a healthy scratch on Monday night as the New Jersey Devils visit the Minnesota Wild.

Advice: Prout has no points in four games so far this season. He racks up penalty minutes but won't contribute much offensively for his team. His most notable NHL moment remains his knockdown of former Bruins' enforcer Milan Lucic while Prout was with the Blue Jackets. Joining him in the press box in Minnesota will be Stefan Noesen and Jimmy Hayes. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:40 pm
  • Scott Harrington scratched versus Sabres
Scott Harrington will be a healthy scratch as the Columbus Blue Jackets visit the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night.

Advice: Harrington last played on October 30th versus the Boston Bruins. The defenseman has appeared in only two games so far this season with the Blue Jackets. With a defense core that includes Seth Jones, Zach Werenski, Jack Johnson and Ryan Murray, the former second-round pick might have trouble cracking this lineup. He will be the only healthy scratch for Columbus on Monday, but will be joined in the press box by an injured Alexander Wennberg. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:05 pm
  • Aaron Ness scratched as Caps host Flames
Aaron Ness will be a healthy scratch on Monday night when the Washington Capitals host the Calgary Flames.

Advice: Chiarot hasn't played since Oct. 20 when he logged 16:08 of ice time against Minnesota. He has waited a long time to get back in the fold and he'll get his chance to play versus Nashville because of an injury to Toby Enstrom. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:25 am

Advice: Maatta didn't skate Saturday morning either, but he still managed to play against Chicago. He logged 18:10 of ice time in the contest. Pittsburgh doesn't return to action until Wednesday night, so Maatta has some time to recover. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:27 am
  • Marc Methot (knee) will miss 4-6 weeks
Marc Methot will be out of action for four-to-six weeks after he had his knee scoped on Monday.

Advice: Methot, who has been put on injured reserve, hasn't played since Nov. 6 with what was initially listed as a "lower-body injury." He has no points in 15 games this season. Methot's extended stay on the sidelines explains why the Stars brought up Julius Honka from the minors on Monday. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:25 am
    Injured Reserve

  • Keith Yandle posts two points vs. Ducks
Keith Yandle netted his third goal of the year in a 3-2 loss to Anaheim on Sunday.

Advice: Yandle also added an assist in the contest, but the Panthers' comeback bid fell short in the third period. The Florida defender has 11 points through 20 contests this campaign. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:33 am
  • Kris Letang turning things around
Kris Letang is starting to turn his season around.

Advice: Letang started the season as one of the worst defensemen in the NHL as he had the worst plus-minus in the league. He was on for only seven goals in five-on-five situations while the Penguins allowed 25 when he was on the ice. But that was then and he has shown a marked improvement in his game. The Penguins have outshot their opposition 70-38 when Letang has been on the ice in five-on-five situations of late and that is a big improvement. He has a goal and 15 points in 22 games and a minus-12 rating but look for his stats to only get better in the last three quarters of the season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:34 am
  • Brendan Smith gets tossed on Sunday

Advice: Both have blocked 62 shots this season. Martinez has been off to a slow start offensively as he has only two goals and four points this season. He had 39 points last year so he is capable of more but just has not done so in 2017-18. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:30 am
  • Justin Faulk gets pair of pp assists
Justin Faulk had two power play assists on Sunday.

Advice: The defenseman has been a power play specialist for a few seasons and Sunday was no exception, getting helpers on goals by Teuvo Teravainen and Sebastian Aho. Faulk has been having a bad time of things entering the game as he had only a goal and three points in 18 contests so perhaps this will get him going. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:04 am
  • Brandon Montour gets game winner
Brandon Montour's sixth goal of the season was the game winner Sunday.

Advice: Montour has enjoyed a nice run of success while Cam Fowler has been out of action but that may change slightly as Fowler is due back this week after missing a month of action. That being said, Montour has a lot of offensive weapons and should still be fantasy worthy in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:39 am
  • Flyers hope MacDonald ready on Tuesday
The Philadelphia Flyers hope that Andrew MacDonald (lower body) is ready to go Tuesday.

  • Cam Fowler closing in on return
Cam Fowler (knee) is close to returning to action.

Advice: The defenseman considers himself lucky that he was not out of action for four-five months rather than four-five weeks after the way his knee bent in a way it should not have on October 20. "It was a scary thing," Fowler said Saturday. "When you’re on the ice, you don’t know exactly what’s going on. You just know that something’s wrong. Once I got back in and the emotions kind of settled down a little bit, you’re able to take a step back and realize that things could have obviously been a lot worse. So I’m thankful for that and thankful for all the work that everyone around here has done for me to help me get back to a point to where I’m close to playing now." Fowler practiced on Saturday with the Ducks and should return at some point this week to the regular lineup. Get ready to activate him. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:08 am
