Advice: Bjork had two goals and five points in 30 games with the Bruins this season. He has 16 goals and 39 points in 138 career NHL contests, while averaging 12:30 of ice time per match. Buffalo will probably be looking to give him a larger role.  Today, 9:36 pm
  • Bruins get Curtis Lazar from Buffalo
Boston has acquired Curtis Lazar from Buffalo along with Taylor Hall in exchange for Anders Bjork and a second-round draft pick.

  • Report: Buffalo trades Taylor Hall to Boston
Boston has acquired Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar from Buffalo in exchange for Anders Bjork and a second-round draft pick.

Advice: TSN's Darren Dreger was the first to report the details of the trade, while Pierre LeBrun added that the Sabres retained 50% of Hall's contract. He signed a one-year, $8 million deal with Buffalo on Oct. 11, but the move didn't work out for either side. Hall registered just two goals and 17 assists in 37 games, while the team struggled mightily on the ice and has the worst record in the league. Still, he will get another fresh start as a top-six forward on the Bruins. Boston will be his fourth different team in the last two years.  Today, 9:15 pm
  • Yakov Trenin fills up the stat sheet on Sunday
Yakov Trenin notched his fourth goal of the season in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win against the Dallas Stars.

Advice: Trenin's goal at 2:09 of the second period from Colton Sissons gave the Predators its only lead of the game until Jamie Oleksiak tied it up for Dallas at 18:56 of the second. Trenin also a minor penalty while leading his team with six hits, which matched Blake Comeau of the Stars for the game high.  Today, 8:25 pm
  • Report: Jeff Carter heading to Pittsburgh
According to multiple reports, Jeff Carter has been traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Advice: TSN's Bob McKenzie was the first to report the deal. According to Bob, the Kings will be retaining salary and receiving a couple of conditional draft picks in exchange for Carter. He cautioned that there hasn't been word yet on a trade call between Pittsburgh and Los Angeles, so it's not finalized until the teams make it official.  Today, 8:23 pm

  • Juuse Saros makes 24 saves in Sunday's SOW vs. DAL
Juuse Saros allowed two goals on 26 shots in Sunday's 3-2 shootout victory against the Dallas Stars.

Advice: Saros didn't have an answer for Roope Hintz early in the first period, and Jamie Oleksiak got him late in the second period with the game-tying goal. But he shut down the visitors in the third period and overtime, and snagged attempts by Jason Robertson, Joe Pavelski and Hintz in the shootout to improve to 14-7-0 with a 2.17 goals-against average and .929 save percentage across his 23 starts and 24 appearances overall. Today, 8:23 pm
  • Roope Hintz has two-point night in the Music City
Roope Hintz scored a goal with an assist in Sunday's 3-2 road shootout loss against the Nashville Predators.

Advice: Hintz opened the scoring at 4:56 of the first period with help from John Klingberg, and he assisted on Jamie Oleksiak's game-tying goal late in the second period. He ended up with a plus-1 rating, two shots on goal and a hit in his 20:36 of ice time across 28 shifts while winning four of his nine faceoff attempts (44.4 percent). Hintz appears to be over the lower-body injury which ailed him last week, as he has two goals and eight points with a plus-5 rating with three straight multi-point performances. Today, 8:20 pm
  • Bruins acquire Mike Reilly from Ottawa
Ottawa has traded Mike Reilly to Boston in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Advice: Reilly has posted 19 assists, 67 shots. 36 blocks and 54 hits in 40 games this season. The Bruins have some key injuries on the back end, so this was a much-needed addition. He can become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.  Today, 8:19 pm
  • Anton Khudobin coughs up two goals in SOL
Anton Khudobin allowed two goals on 20 shots in Sunday's 3-2 shootout road loss against the Nashville Predators.

Advice: Khudobin was staked to an early 1-0 lead courtesy of Roope Hintz, but he allowed goal to Ryan Ellis midway through the first, and another to Yakov Trenin early in the second. Things settled down, and he stopped two of the three attempts he faced in the shootout, but Ryan Johansen beat him in the first round and Juuse Saros didn't give up any in the extra session. Today, 8:18 pm
  • Islanders land Braydon Coburn from Ottawa
The New York Islanders have obtained Braydon Coburn from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for seventh-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Advice: Coburn skated in just 16 games with the Senators this season, while recording two assists, 15 shots, 14 blocks and 25 hits. He is playing on the final season of a two-year, $3.4 million contract.  Today, 8:11 pm
  • Dan Vladar provides very little resistance
Dan Vladar was roughed up for eight goals on 33 shots in Sunday's 8-1 loss against the Washington Capitals.

Advice: It was a rough one for Vladar, who took one for the team and stuck it out until the end, as bench boss Bruce Cassidy elected to keep rookie Jeremy Swayman nailed to the bench for a much-needed rest after playing Saturday. The B's will look for the bounce back in a favorable matchup with the visiting Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Today, 8:11 pm
  • Conor Sheary lights lamp twice in Sunday's win
Conor Sheary posted two goals in Sunday's 8-1 rout of the Boston Bruins.

Advice: Sheary finished with a plus-1 rating, three shots on goal and he split his two faceoff chances in 15:22 of ice time across 20 shifts. He joined Lars Eller and T.J. Oshie was multi-goal scorers in a high-octane offensive display against Dan Vladar in Boston. It might have been extra special for Sheary, too, as he hails from nearby Winchester, Mass. It was Sheary's second two-goal game this season, as he also accomplished the feat Jan. 28 against the New York Islanders. Today, 8:08 pm
  • Three-point game for T.J. Oshie on Beantown
T.J. Oshie registered two goals and three points in Sunday's 8-1 rout of the Boston Bruins.

Advice: Oshie registered a power-play goal to open the scoring at 7:33, and he made it 7-1 with his 14th of the season at 10:13 of the third period with help from Nicklas Backstrom. He also had primary assist on a goal from Lars Eller later in the third as the Caps really took the wood to Dan Vladar and the Bruins. Next up for Washington is a date with the Philadelphia Flyers Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Today, 8:05 pm
  • Toronto acquires David Rittich from Calgary
Toronto has acquired David Rittich from Calgary in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Advice: Calgary will retain 50% of Rittich's contract. This trade may not bode well for the status of Frederik Andersen, who has been out due to a lower-body injury. However, it could also just be for some additional insurance because Jack Campbell has been banged up for most of the season as well. Either way, Rittich's acquisition provides the Leafs with some depth in the crease. He had a 4-7-1 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and .904 save percentage 15 appearances with the Flames this season.  Today, 8:00 pm
  • Lars Eller notches pair of goals in Sunday's romp
Lars Eller scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season in Sunday's 8-1 whitewashing of the Boston Bruins.

Advice: Eller notched the second goal of the game at 7:49, just 16 seconds after T.J. Oshie opened the scoring on the power play. Eller then returned at 13:14 of the third period to put a bow on the scoring. He beat Dan Vladar twice in the outing, notching his first two-goal game since Feb. 2, 2020 against Pittsburgh. Eller also entered the weekend with just one multi-point game in his first 28 games, but he has two in the past two games with two goals and four points. Today, 7:59 pm
  • Roope Hintz good to go on Sunday night
Roope Hintz will be in the lineup on Sunday versus Nashville.

Advice: Hintz was listed as a game-time decision earlier in the day, but that has been the case for him for just about the entire year. He has been playing through a lower-body injury. Despite the issue, Hintz has amassed 12 goals and 30 points in 28 appearances during the 2020-21 campaign.  Today, 4:43 pm
  • Juuse Saros will face Dallas on Sunday night
Juuse Saros will be in the crease for Sunday's game against Dallas.

Advice: Saros will get the second half of Nashville's back-to-back situation after Pekka Rinne played in Saturday's loss to Tampa Bay. He has won his last three starts, including a 7-1 victory over Detroit on Thursday when he blocked 25 shots. Saros has a 13-7-0 record this season with a 2.19 goals-against average and .930 save percentage.  Today, 4:36 pm
  • Anton Khudobin will start again on Sunday

  • Dan Vladar to get the start on Sunday
Dan Vladar will get the start in goal for Boston Sunday.

Advice: There was some thought that the start could go to Tuukka Rask who is coming off injury but the Finnish netminder is not ready to go according to coach Bruce Cassidy. Rask is expected to play at some point this week as he has been out since March 25 with an upper-body injury. Vladar is 2-1-1 with a 2.25 GAA and a .922 save percentage. It may be tough starting Vladar in DFS as the Bruins have four regular defensemen who are expected to be out of the lineup. Today, 4:08 am
  • Anton Khudobin only allows one goal versus Florida
Anton Khudobin saved 20 of 21 shots in a 4-1 victory against Florida on Saturday.

Advice: The only goal Khudobin surrendered was scored on a Panthers power play. This is the third straight game where he's held the competition to just a goal. Yesterday, 2:23 pm
  • Taylor Hall won't play on Sunday
Taylor Hall will be a healthy scratch on Sunday.

Advice: No real surprise there. The Sabres have been keeping Hall out of the lineup to avoid any potential injury as they attempt to trade him. Hall's arguably the biggest name likely to be traded by before the deadline passes on Monday. Yesterday, 11:55 am
  • Anders Bjork isn't in the lineup on Saturday
Anders Bjork will not play on Saturday.

Advice: Bjork last played on April 3. He has two goals and five points in 30 contests this season. Yesterday, 10:51 am
  • Anton Khudobin to start on Saturday
The Dallas Stars will have goaltender Anton Khudobin between the pipes Saturday against Florida.

Advice: Khudobin is 8-9-4 this season with a 2.40 GAA and a .912 save percentage. He had a big 38 save win over Chicago Thursday and will try to make it back-to-back wins.  Yesterday, 8:45 am
  • Taylor Hall set to sit again on Friday night
Taylor Hall won't be in the lineup for Buffalo on Friday night.

Advice: This will be the third straight game that Hall will miss ahead of Monday's trade deadline. He has probably played in his last game as a member of the Sabres. It has been a disappointing season for Hall, who has two goals and 19 points 37 games, but he should still be a highly sought-after player. Friday, 2:40 pm
  • Cassidy: Dan Vladar 'tentatively set for Sunday'
Dan Vladar is "tentatively set for Sunday," according to coach Bruce Cassidy.

Advice: Cassidy said that decision will depend on the status of Tuukka Rask, who has been out due to an upper-body injury. Jeremy Swayman will get a third straight start on Saturday for the Bruins. Vladar has a 2-1-1 record this season with a 2.25 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in four games played.  Friday, 1:38 pm
  • Hintz earns praise for playing through injury
Roope Hintz is getting a lot of credit for playing as often as he has been lately given his lower-body injury.

Advice: Hintz has occasionally been held out of the lineup or been a game-time decision lately because of a lower-body issue. When he has been able to play though, he's been amazing, scoring eight goals and 18 points in his last 14 contests. “Probably a lot of guys wouldn’t play in the situation that he is, what he’s dealing with,” Stars coach Rick Bowness said. “Give him 100% marks for being gutty and the character to go out and play. He’s just a dominant player, he shows what he means to our team. He’s our best forward. He is one of the top two-way centers in this league, and he’ll just keep getting better.” Friday, 7:15 am
  • Anton Khudobin makes 38 saves in win over Chicago
Anton Khudobin made 38 saves during Thursday's 5-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Advice: Khudobin allowed just one goal on a total of 39 shots and finished the night with a .974 save percentage. Khudobin has posted three shutouts this year, but when considering the games where he did not pick up a shutout, this performance ranks as his highest save percentage. Khudobin has been having a bit of a rocky season, but this game might help spark some momentum in the netminder to help him return to the level of play he was at last year. He does have back-to-back wins now, and his record currently improves to 8-9-4. Thursday, 8:33 pm
  • Roope Hintz picks up four points in win over CHI
Roope Hintz picked up four points during Thursday's 5-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Advice: Hintz opened scoring in this matchup, as he picked up a power play goal 9:19 into the first period to give Dallas a 1-0 lead. In the second, Hintz notched the primary assist on a goal scored by Jason Robertson and then also got another assist on a power play goal scored by Miro Heiskanen. Hintz capped off his night in the third period, picking up the sole assist on Blake Comeau's final goal of the game. This performance helps Hintz improve his goal total to 12 and his assist total to 16. He now has the second-most points and the second-most goals on the Stars roster. Thursday, 8:27 pm
  • Juuse Saros makes 25 saves in win over Detroit
Juuse Saros made 25 saves in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Advice: Saros allowed just one goal on 26 shots and finished the night with a .962 save percentage. Saros was close to picking up a shutout in this matchup, but he allowed a goal just under two minutes into the second period. However, that was the only goal that slipped past him all night, and he comes out of this game with a win that improves his season record to 13-7-0. Saros has now picked up wins in his past three consecutive appearances. Thursday, 8:01 pm
  • Juuse Saros starts against Red Wings
The Nashville Predators will start Juuse Saros on Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

Advice: Saros was arguably the NHL's best goalie in the month of March and he seems to have continued that trend in April. The Finnish netminder will come into tonight's game with a 12-7-0 record, a 2.24 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage. He's a must-start. Thursday, 3:58 pm
  • Anders Bjork won't dress against Washington
The Boston Bruins won't have Anders Bjork in their lineup on Thursday night against the New York Rangers.

Advice: Bjork is pointless in his last five games and will sit in three straight. Jarred Tinordi will also be scratched. Thursday, 3:49 pm
  • Taylor Hall won't play again on Thursday night
Taylor Hall will be scratched for a second straight game on Thursday.

Advice: The Sabres will use the same lineup as Tuesday and it wouldn't be a surprise if Hall has already played in his last game as a member of the team. Buffalo doesn't want to risk an injury with Monday's trade deadline fast approaching. Hall has still been involved in everything, including meetings, according to coach Don Granato. He just hasn't been playing.  Thursday, 1:16 pm
  • Anton Khudobin returns to the crease on Thursday
Anton Khudobin will be in goal for Dallas on Thursday against Chicago.

Advice: Khudobin returned to the lineup on Tuesday in the backup role following his stint on the COVI protocol list due to a false positive test result. This will be his first start since April 1 when he stopped 21 shots in a 4-1 win over Nashville. Khudobin has a 7-9-4 record this season with a 2.48 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 20 appearances.  Thursday, 10:00 am
  • Juuse Saros makes 25 stops in SO win over Detroit
Juuse Saros turned aside 25 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Advice: Saros looked very solid on Tuesday night and made some big stops to keep his team within a goal throughout the second period. He also stopped both attempts by Filip Zadina and Dylan Larkin in the shootout to give his team two much-needed points. Saros owns a 12-7-0 record with a steadily declining 2.24 goals-against average and .928 save percentage. Tuesday, 8:35 pm
  • Juuse Saros gets the nod against Detroit
The Nashville Predators will start Juuse Saros on Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

Advice: Having gone 5-1-0 in his last six starts, Saros is one of the hottest goalies in the NHL, turning into a must-start. He'll come into the game with a 11-7-0 record, a 2.27 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage. Tuesday, 3:58 pm
  • Sabres will scratch Taylor Hall Tuesday night
Taylor Hall will not be in the lineup on Tuesday.

Advice: There's no indication that Hall is injured, so this is probably the Sabres actually protecting him from the possibility of getting hurt before the upcoming trade deadline. Hall has struggled this season with two goals and 19 points in 37 contests this season, but given his impressive career resume, there are no doubt teams who are interested in acquiring him in the hope that he'll bounce back once he's out of Buffalo. Tuesday, 9:15 am
  • Dan Vladar allows three goals in loss vs. Flyers
Dan Vladar allowed three goals in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins.

Advice: Despite allowing three goals and losing the game, Vladar looked very comfortable in his net and gave the Bruins an opportunity to win however they couldn't beat the goaltender at the other end of the ice, Brian Elliott. Vladar made a beautiful save on Travis Konecny in the second period to keep the Bruins 2-1 lead in tact at that point. The 23-year-old goaltender owns a 2-1-1 record with a 2.25 goals-against average and .922 save percentage. Monday, 7:34 pm
  • Stars put Anton Khudobin back on active roster
Anton Khudobin (COVID protocol) has been moved back to the active roster of the Dallas Stars.

Advice: The Stars made the transaction official on Monday after Dallas GM Jim Nill said on Sunday night that Khuobin had been cleared to travel with the team to Chicago. The team was confident that it was a false positive test result and that turned out to be the case. Khudobin was forced to sit out two games, though.  Monday, 11:30 am
  • Dan Vladar will play Monday vs. Philadelphia
Dan Vladar will be in the crease for Boston on Monday night against Philadelphia.

Advice: Vladar was scheduled to start this contest anyway, but he won't be backed up by Tuukka Rask (upper body) or Jaroslav Halak (COVID protocol). Jeremy Swayman was Boston's other netminder at the team's morning skate. Vladar has a 2-1-0 record this season with a 2.03 goals-against average and .929 save percentage in his first three NHL starts. Monday, 9:31 am
  • David Rittich makes 26 saves in loss to Leafs
David Rittich made 26 saves during Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Advice: Rittich allowed four goals on 30 shots and finished the night with a .867 save percentage. He started off the game by allowing one goal 58 seconds after puck drop. However, he regained composure and had a good rest of the period, along with a good second period. It was during the third period that Rittich allowed two goals within three minutes, thus sealing a loss for the Flames. This loss drops his season record to 4-7-1. Sunday, 8:48 pm
  • Anton Khudobin cleared to travel with team
Anton Khudobin (COVID protocol) has been cleared to travel with the team to Chicago, per Stars GM Jim Nill.

Advice: Nill said that Khudobin's retest came back negative following a false positive. The Stars netminder had to sit out the last two games because of COVID-19 protocols. However, it sounds like he could be available to play on Tuesday versus the Blackhawks.  Sunday, 6:45 pm
  • Roope Hintz back in the lineup on Sunday
Roope Hintz (lower body) will be back in the lineup on Sunday against Carolina.

Advice: Hintz didn't play on Saturday versus the Hurricanes because of his lingering lower-body injury. He has racked up 11 goals and 24 points in 24 games this season when he's played. Get him back in your lineup tonight.  Sunday, 3:43 pm
  • David Rittich expected to play on Sunday
David Rittich is expected to get the nod on Sunday night versus Toronto.

Advice: Rittich was in the starter's crease during Calgary's optional morning skate, which puts him on track to play in the first half of a back-to-back situation against the Maple Leafs. Advice: Hintz missed the pregame warmups as a result. He has been in-and-out of the lineup due to the issue. He has 11 goals and 24 points in 24 contests this season. Saturday, 3:37 pm
  • Juuse Saros posts 41-save shutout over Chicago
Juuse Saros earned a 41-save shutout in a 3-0 victory against Chicago on Saturday.

Advice: That's Saros' second shutout of the season with them both coming in his last six games. Chicago kept on the pressure throughout the contest, firing at least 12 shots in every period. They also ended up outshooting Nashville 41-21, highlighting how vital a role Saros played in this victory. He improved to 11-7-0 with a 2.27 GAA and .928 save percentage in 21 contests. Saturday, 3:23 pm

  • Anton Khudobin is in the COVID-19 protocol
Anton Khudobin has been placed in the COVID-19 protocol.

Advice: Ben Bishop (knee) hasn't made his return yet, so with the Stars' top two goaltenders now unavailable, Jake Oettinger will serve as the de facto starter for now. Khudobin has a 7-9-4 record, 2.48 GAA, and .908 save percentage in 20 games this season. Saturday, 9:15 am
  • Juuse Saros makes 27 saves in loss to Stars
Juuse Saros made 27 saves during Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Advice: Saros allowed a total of three goals on 30 shots and finished the night with a .900 save percentage. The Stars put more pressure on the Nashville net than vice versa so Saros did a good job of keeping his team in this game, but his efforts were not enough and he comes out of this game with a loss that drops his season record to 10-7-0. He also broke a four-game winning streak with the outcome of this game. Thursday, 8:08 pm
  • Daniel Vladar allows 3 goals in loss to PIT
Daniel Vladar allowed three goals on 22 shots during Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Advice: Vladar's numbers weren't great tonight, but the team in front didn't provide enough offense for him either. This was the 23-year-old's first regulation loss of his career and it was also the first time he gave up more than two goals in a game this season. Vladar now has a 2-1-0 record with a 2.03 goals-against-average and a .929 save percentage in 2021. He hasn't been bad, but it's clear that the Bruins need Tuukka Rask back if they're going to make a long playoff run.  Thursday, 6:54 pm
  • Juuse Saros starts against Dallas
The Nashville Predators will start Juuse Saros on Thursday night against the Dallas Stars.

Advice: Saros is riding a four-game winning streak and will be looking to stay hot tonight. The Finnish netminder will come into tonight's game with a 10-6-0 record, a 2.36 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage. He's a must-start. Thursday, 4:41 pm

Curtis Lazar (lower body) won't play on Thursday night against the New York Rangers.

Advice: Lazar left Wednesday's game against Philadelphia late in the second period due to a lower-body injury. He scored his fifth goal of the year earlier in the contest and it held up as the game winner. Unfortunately, it sounds like Lazar could be out for a while. "We're looking at probably a better evaluation in a week, but it's going to be week-to-week for now," said interim coach Don Granato on Thursday.  Thursday, 9:19 am
