Husso surrenders four goals in Game 3 relief duty
Playing for an injured Jordan Binnington, Ville Husso allowed four goals on 23 attempts in Saturday's 5-2 Game 3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Advice: Husso did not draw the start on Saturday, but he played almost the entirety of the contest due to an early injury exit for Jordan Binnington. While the Blues led 1-0 at the time the 27-year-old entered the contest, he was unable to hold that initial advantage, yielding a game-tying goal to Logan O'Connor a short time after coming into the game. Artturi Lehkonen and Nazem Kadri would hit him up for additional goals in the second period as the Avalanche worked out to a 3-1 advantage before hanging on for the win over the remainder of regulation. The final goal on Husso's line came when Gabriel Landeskog caught him a touch too far outside his crease in the third period. Husso has now allowed 13 goals over his last three playoff appearances. Binnington had been playing stellar hockey this postseason and any extended loss could end up sinking this series for the Blues. Game 4 drops on Monday in St. Louis as the Blues look to come back from a newfound 2-1 series deficit.
