Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 24 shots he faced during Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Advice: Hellebuyck has started heating up over the last few games, as he's now recorded two shutouts in his last three contests. The Jets goalie was named the second star for his efforts on Tuesday. He has a 23-17-3 record with a 2.60 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage this season. Jeremy Swayman allowed two goals on 32 shots during Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Advice: The Bruins rested some key players for tonight's game, but they still jumped out a 1-0 lead in the second period. Unfortunately for Boston, they allowed the Caps to score the game-winning goal with three seconds remaining in regulation. This game didn't mean anything for either team, as it was already settled that they'd be going head-to-head in the first round. Advice: The Bruins rested some of their key players tonight because this game was meaningless, but Vanecek still managed to end the season on a high note. This game looked like it was headed for overtime, but Michael Raffl scored the game-winning goal with three seconds remaining in the third frame. Vanecek finishes the regular season with a 21-10-4 record, a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage. He turned in a solid rookie season.  NBCSportsEDGE.com 57 minutes ago

Advice: Hellebuyck still could be in the lineup on Monday and coach Paul Maurice said the Jets netminder would be playing if this was the playoffs. He said after the game that he hasn't spoken to anyone yet about what his next steps are, but said he will be "ready for whatever happens...if I can get some (NHL) game action, that would be great." Jack Campbell improved to 17-2-2 for the big club in a win over Montreal Saturday, and it would be hard to imagine head coach Sheldon Keefe sending Campbell to the back seat when Andersen is ready to return, but we'll see. NBCSportsEDGE.com Saturday, 11:02 pm

  • Vitek Vanecek allows three goals in loss vs. PHI
Vitek Vanecek allowed three goals in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Advice: Vanecek had a tough outing on Friday after two spirited matchups with the Rangers in the games prior. That does not excuse his poor angle-coverage on Wade Allison's first goal of the game that came from a sharp angle. He also had a rough time right off the jump in his crease that led to Joel Farabee's opening goal. Vanecek owns a 20-10-4 record with a 2.74 goals-against average and .907 save percentage. NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 7:28 pm

  • Jeremy Swayman shuts out NYR on Thursday
Jeremy Swayman stopped all 15 shots he faced during Thursday's 4-0 win over the New York Rangers.

Advice: The Bruins made it look easy tonight and that wasn't totally unexpected given how emotional the game between the Rangers and Capitals was last night. Swayman continues to impress down the stretch, as he's now won seven of his first nine games. He's also given up two goals or fewer in eight of his nine appearances. The 22-year-old may not be ready to be a full-time starting goalie at the NHL level, but he isn't that far away. Advice: Wheeler ended up with a plus-1 rating while cashing in each of his two shots on goal for scores. He also ended up with a minor penalty and a hit in 16:07 of ice time across 21 shifts. Surprisingly, it was Wheeler's first multi-point showing since March 26, which also happened to be against the Flames. He is working on a five-game point streak with three goals and six points. The Jets are back in action Saturday night against the visiting Ottawa Senators. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 9:29 pm
  • Connor Hellebuyck blanks Flames, moves up SO list
Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves in Wednesday's 4-0 shutout win against the Calgary Flames.

Advice: Hellebuyck snapped a six-game losing skid with the shutout, his third of the season. He ties Mike Karakas with 23 shutouts, which is tied for the third-most shutouts by a U.S.-born goaltender within his first six career NHL seasons. Only Frank Birmsek (28) and Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick (25) have more shutouts amongst American goaltenders. The Jets are back at it on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators. Hellebuyck is 4-2-0 with a 2.35 GAA and .917 SV% in six starts against the Sens this season. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 9:08 pm
  • Vitek Vanecek beats NYR on Wednesday night
Vitek Vanecek stopped 19 of 21 shots in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Advice: This game got ugly in a hurry because the NHL failed to deal with Tom Wilson's antics in Monday's game between these two teams. So, the Rangers and Capitals started the game with a line brawl and a few more fights after that. The two teams combined for 72 minutes in penalties before the five-minute mark of the game. Don't be surprised if there's a suspension and a few fines that come out of this game. Vanecek has won three of his last four games and he owns a 20-9-4 record this season. He'll enter his next appearance with a 2.73 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 7:38 pm

Nick Foligno left Monday's game early because of an upper-body injury and he was not able to return.

Advice: It looked like Foligno was dealing with a lower-body issue when he left the ice, but the Leafs announced it was an upper-body injury. Coach Sheldon Keefe wasn't able to provide an update following the game, but the team expects to know more in the next couple of days.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Tuesday, 12:17 am

  • Braden Holtby coughs up four goals in home loss
Braden Holtby allowed four goals on 31 shots in Monday's 5-3 home loss against the Edmonton Oilers.

Advice: Holtby fell behind 3-1 late in the second period, but J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser made things interesting late in the game. With 3:27 left in regulation, Boeser closed the gap to 4-3 to give Holtby and the home side a chance. But Connor McDavid struck for the empty netter to shut the notion of a comeback down. Holtby slipped to 7-9-2 with a 3.34 goals-against average and .899 save percentage in his 18 starts. NBCSportsEDGE.com Monday, 11:22 pm
  • Vitek Vanecek allows 3 goals in win over NYR
Vitek Vanecek stopped 23 of 26 shots in Monday's 6-3 win over the New York Rangers.

Advice: The Capitals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but they were down 3-2 in the second frame. Washington managed to score the final four goals of the game to win it. Vanecek now owns a 19-9-4 record with a 2.76 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage in 2021. No rookie goaltender has accumulated more wins this season.  NBCSportsEDGE.com May 3, 7:33 pm
  • Alex Ovechkin's (LBI) return attempt ends quickly
Alex Ovechkin (lower body) only logged 39 seconds of ice time on Monday before being shutdown.

Advice: Ovechkin will not return to Monday's contest. He was attempting to return from a lower-body injury after missing four straight contests. It's worth noting that Washington was already shorthanded going into the game due to cap issues. That coupled with Ovechkin's brief appearance into the game will naturally lead to questions about if the Capitals attempted to press Ovechkin into service quicker than they might have otherwise because of their roster  situation. • Frederik Andersen won't travel with the team
Frederik Andersen practiced again on Sunday, but he won't travel with the team for Monday's match against Montreal.

Advice: Coach Sheldon Keefe said the team expects to work out a plan for Andersen after another practice on Wednesday. The Leafs netminder said earlier this week that he has been dealing with an issue around his knee, but he hopes to play in some games before the postseason begins. Andersen has been out of action since March 19.  NBCSportsEDGE.com May 2, 10:36 am
  • Swayman only needs to stop 17 shots Saturday
Jeremy Swayman saved 17 of 19 shots in a 6-2 win against Buffalo on Saturday.

Advice: Swayman has now allowed two or fewer goals in each of his last five games. The rookie goaltender has a 6-2-0 record, 1.62 GAA, and .942 save percentage in eight contests in 2020-21. NBCSportsEDGE.com May 1, 1:02 pm

He has 15 goals and 33 points in 43 games and is one of the most important players in the Toronto lineup when he plays. Stay tuned. NBCSportsEDGE.com May 1, 8:38 am
