  • In goal for Game 5
Hill will protect the home goal in Saturday's Game 5 versus the Stars, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Sun reports.

Advice: Hill saw a five-game winning streak snapped in Game 4 on Thursday, but he still put in a good effort with 39 saves on 42 shots in that overtime loss. The Golden Knights will get their second chance at advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday. Hill has made four home appearances this postseason, allowing eight goals on 103 shots in those contests. Rotowire.com Today, 4:37 pm
  • Set to start Saturday
Oettinger will guard the road goal in Saturday's Game 5 versus the Golden Knights, Saad Yousuf of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Head coach Pete DeBoer said the Stars would go with the same lineup from Game 4, which included Oettinger, who made 37 saves in a 3-2 overtime win. Oettinger's about as close to a lock as it gets, as he's started all 17 playoff contests so far. He has a 9-8 record, a 2.94 GAA and an .899 save percentage, and he'll look to keep the Stars' season alive again Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 3:32 pm
  • Not playing Saturday
Dadonov (lower body) won't travel with the team to Vegas for Game 5 on Saturday, Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas News reports.

Advice: Dadonov was unavailable Wednesday in the Stars' 3-2 win over Vegas in Game 4 on Thursday. Dadonov has four goals and 10 points in 16 Stanley Cup playoff games this season, after picking up seven goals and 26 helpers in 73 games split between Dallas and Montreal in the regular season. He is considered to be longer than day-to-day but could return if the Stars are able to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:31 am

  • Suffers Grade 3 shoulder separation
Noesen suffered a Grade 3 shoulder separation in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Florida in Game 4, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.

Advice: Grade 3 is the most serious of shoulder separations as it is a complete tear of both the AC (acromioclavicular) and CC (coracoclavicular) ligaments. Noesen had 13 goals and 36 points in 78 regular-season games, including seven tallies and eight helpers on the power play. Noesen chipped in with four goals and four assists in 15 playoff games as he saw plenty of action on the top line. No timetable was given for Noesen's return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:07 am

  • Expecting to skate in July
Svechnikov (knee) is expecting to resume skating in July, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.

Advice: Svechnikov suffered the injury that required surgery on March 11, ending his season. The talented Russian will return home for a month before returning to Raleigh to resume his rehab. Svechnikov had 23 goals and 55 points in 64 regular-season games. Look for Svechnikov to return in time for the start of training camp in September and regain his role as a top-line winger. • Signs in Sweden
Laaksonen signed a two-year contract with Lulea of the Swedish Hockey League on Friday.

Advice: Laaksonen was selected in the third round -- 89th overall -- in 2017 by the Sabres and was dealt to Dallas on Dec. 15 for Joseph Cecconi. Laaksonen had two assists in 10 AHL games with Rochester and followed that with a pair of goals and six helpers in 29 AHL games with Texas. The Finnish defenseman has never played a game in the NHL after playing parts of three seasons in the AHL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:21 am

  • Adds assist in Game 4
McNabb recorded an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and four PIM in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Stars in Game 4.

Advice: McNabb set up a Jonathan Marchessault go-ahead goal in the second period for his lone positive contribution in the contest. The bad news was McNabb's pair of high-sticking penalties, which led to two of the Stars' three goals. Through 14 playoff games, the physical defenseman has just two assists to go with 30 hits, 32 blocked shots, eight PIM and a plus-4 rating. He'll continue to play a defensive role in the Golden Knights' top four. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:44 pm
  • Records helper
Roy logged an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Stars in Game 4.

Advice: Roy hasn't scored in six games, but he has five assists in that span as he continues to enjoy a larger role on the Golden Knights' second line. The 26-year-old had a hand in William Karlsson's first-period tally. Roy is at one goal, seven helpers, 25 shots on net, 31 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 15 playoff appearances. • Sets up opening goal
Smith notched an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Stars in Game 4.

Advice: Smith set up William Karlsson on the opening tally. After playing a strong supporting role in the first two rounds, Smith opened the Western Conference Finals with a three-game point drought. He's at two goals, seven helpers, 37 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-5 rating through 15 playoff contests. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:39 pm
