  • Avoids serious injury
Fabbri's upper-body injury from Saturday's 5-2 preseason win over the Capitals is not expected to keep him out long, Ansar Khan of reports.

Advice: Fabbri has been a model for perseverance, opting to continue his career despite having to work past three ACL surgeries. "We're probably being a little cautious there," head coach Derek Lalonde said. "If he doesn't practice (Sunday), I think we'll expect him sometime early in the week to practice. I don't think it's anything long term." Last year, Fabbri managed a career-high shooting percentage (20) to go along with 16 points through 28 games before getting shut down in March. • Loaned to Switzerland
Reinbacher was loaned to HC Kloten of Switzerland's National League on Saturday.

Advice: Reinbacher logged 16:27 of ice time while tallying one hit and one shot on goal in Saturday's preseason loss to Toronto. As expected, the 18-year-old blueliner will continue his development in Switzerland for the time being. He was selected fifth overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Yesterday, 1:11 pm
  • Injured Saturday
Savoie (lower body) was stretchered off the ice during Saturday's preseason tilt against the Wild, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Advice: Savoie was alert and gave a thumbs-up as he was taken off the ice, which is generally a positive sign. The team will likely have an update on his status in the coming days. The 19-year-old is expected to spend the 2023-24 campaign in the QMJHL. Yesterday, 10:50 am
  • Cut loose from PTO
Montreal released Bisson from his professional tryout agreement Saturday and sent him to AHL Laval for training camp.

Advice: Bisson, who signed a one-year, AHL deal with the Rocket in July, had four goals and 16 points in 61 minor-league contests with Ontario last season. The 26-year-old defender doesn't have any NHL experience yet. Yesterday, 7:18 am
  • Released from PTO
Emond was released from his PTO with the Canadiens on Saturday.

Advice: The 23-year-old netminder was selected in the sixth round (176th overall) by the Sharks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Emond was part of the trade that sent Timo Meier from San Jose to New Jersey in February, but he wasn't retained by the Devils, making him a free agent at the end of the 2022-23 campaign. Yesterday, 7:17 am
  • Hits waivers
McKeown was placed on waivers Saturday, per PuckPedia.

Advice: McKeown provided six goals and 22 points in 60 games for AHL Milwaukee last season. He also suited up in six contests with the Predators during the 2022-23 campaign. The 27-year-old defender will probably spend most, if not all, of this season in the minors. Yesterday, 6:37 am
  • Misses practice Saturday
Connor missed practice Saturday with an illness, according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Advice: Connor had 31 goals and 49 assists in 82 games last season, which was a step back after the winger produced 47 goals and 93 points in 79 contests during 2021-22. Connor is expected to be ready for Opening Night on Oct. 11 in Calgary. Yesterday, 5:45 am
  • Dealing with illness
Vilardi didn't take part in Saturday's practice because of an illness, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

Advice: It is unclear at this time if Vilardi will be ready to return to the ice Sunday or play in Monday's preseason contest against Calgary. Consider him day-to-day for now. Vilardi is slated to open the 2023-24 campaign on Winnipeg's top line alongside Kyle Connor (illness) and Mark Scheifele. Yesterday, 5:42 am
  • Suffers lower-body injury
Chisholm aggravated a lower-body injury Saturday, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

Advice: Chisholm isn't expected to break camp with the Jets and this injury certainly doesn't help his cause. Chisholm played a pair of games with the Jets in 2021-22 and spent all of last season at AHL Manitoba. The defenseman had five goals and 43 points in 59 AHL games last season. Yesterday, 5:40 am
