Player Notes

  • Braden Holtby in net for Game 2 vs Pittsburgh
Braden Holtby will be in net Saturday for Game 2 versus Pittsburgh.

Advice: Through the first seven games and 199 shots faced thus far in the postseason, Holtby has stopped 191 of them. With dominance like that, it's tough to bet against perhaps Washington's best player. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:35 pm
  • Bishop to start in goal Saturday in Game 2
Look for Ben Bishop to start in goal Saturday afternoon in Game 2 against the Islanders.

Advice: Bishop had a rough ride in Game 1 allowing four goals on only 13 shots and was pulled. However, Bishop had a wonderful season and was nominated for the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top goalie. Bishop has also performed very well in the playoffs before. We expect him to bounce back big time in Saturday's matinee. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:29 am
  • Jakub Voracek had some confidence issues
Jakub Voracek admitted that he had some confidence issues this past season.

Advice: Voracek tied for fourth in NHL scoring in 2014-15 but this past season was a different story as he had only one goal in his first 30 games on his way to an 11 goal, 55 point season. "It’s not like I’m crying here or something, but when things don’t go your way, sometimes you overthink things," Voracek said. "It’s kind of cliché to squeeze the stick too tight. But we are professionals, we get paid to make a difference in the game. I wouldn’t use it as an excuse, but with me, everything coming automatically — passes, shooting — I never did overthink things. This year, sometimes, before I passed the puck, I was thinking, ‘What if I hit something, what if the puck doesn’t make it there?’ Before I even passed it. I think I had a little confidence issue this year sometimes." Look for Voracek to get around 70 points next season. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:05 am
  • Jones continues strong play in Game 1 victory
Martin Jones continued his strong play during Friday's Game 1 victory over Nashville.

Advice: Jones turned away 29 of 31 shots, including three of four on the kill. It's worth noting that the second goal was initially deflected off course by Brent Burns before it hit the unsuspecting Ryan Johansen, and going in. No matter, Jones and the Sharks came away with the 5-2 win. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:47 pm
  • Hutton plays final 50 seconds in Game 1 vs SJ
Carter Hutton played the final 50 seconds of Game 1 versus San Jose on Friday night.

Advice: After the Sharks made it 5-2 in the final minute of play, starter Pekka Rinne did not come out to finish the game. Rather Hutton was given the honors, though he did not face any shots. Rinne does not appear to be injured, so we wouldn't expect to see much more of Hutton. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:39 pm
