    • Slated to face Capitals
Shesterkin is slated to start on the road against Washington on Friday, according to Seth Orlemann of USA Today.

Advice: Shesterkin won the first two games of the series while stopping 42 of 46 shots (.913 save percentage). The Capitals ranked 28th offensively with just 2.63 goals per game in the regular season, so it's not surprising that they haven't given Shesterkin much trouble in the first round. That said, the series moving to Washington might help the Capitals, who were 22-12-7 at home compared to 18-19-4 on the road during the 2023-24 campaign. Rotowire.com Today, 11:10 am
    • Another win in Game 3
Andersen stopped 29 of 31 shots in Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Islanders in Game 3.

Advice: After alternating starts with Pyotr Kochetkov late in the regular season, Andersen's now started each of the first three games of Carolina's first-round series against the Islanders, posting an excellent .922 save percentage while helping the Canes jump out to a convincing 3-0 series lead. The 34-year-old netminder figures to be back in goal Saturday as Carolina will look for an opening-series sweep in Game 4 on the road. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:57 pm
    • Set to start Thursday
Andersen is expected to start on the road against the Islanders in Game 3 on Thursday, per Andrew Gross of Newsday.

Advice: Andersen won the first two outings of this first-round series while stopping 42 of 46 shots (.913 save percentage). He was fantastic in the regular season, posting a 13-2-0 record, 1.84 GAA and .932 save percentage in 16 appearances. The Islanders weren't particularly strong offensively during the 2023-24 campaign, finishing 22nd with 2.99 goals per contest, so Andersen likely won't be challenged too much in the first round. • Travels with team
Demko (knee) joined the Canucks for their trip to Nashville for Games 3 and 4 despite being labeled week-to-week, Dan Murphy of Sportsnet reports Thursday.

Advice: Given Demko's week-to-week timeline, his presence on the trip is likely more about being around the team and perhaps helping Casey DeSmith in an off-ice capacity than him potentially returning to action soon. Another update on Demko will likely surface once he's upgraded to day-to-day. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:14 am
    • Two points in Game 2 win
Eichel scored an empty-net goal on five shots, added an assist, went plus-2 and logged two hits in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Advice: Eichel has four points over two playoff outings, and he's earned three goals and six helpers during his six-game point streak. The center set up Jonathan Marchessault's game-tying goal in the first period before adding the empty-netter in the third. Eichel led the 2023 postseason with 26 points to contribute to the Golden Knights' first Stanley Cup championship, and he's off to a great start during their title defense. • Considered week-to-week
Demko (undisclosed) is regarded as week-to-week, coach Rick Tocchet told Thomas Drance of The Athletic on Wednesday.

Advice: Demko was a key part of the Canucks' regular-season success, posting a 35-14-2 record, 2.45 GAA and .918 save percentage in 51 contests. He also stopped 20 of 22 shots en route to a 4-2 victory over the Predators in Game 1 on Sunday. The Canucks will likely lean on Casey DeSmith during Demko's absence. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:52 am
    • Two helpers in OT loss
Hedman picked up two assists, one on the power play, in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Panthers in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Advice: All of Tampa Bay's scoring came in the first six minutes of the second period, as the team was otherwise stifled by Sergei Bobrovsky. Hedman had managed only one multi-point performance in the prior 15 games, including Game 1, but he'd been a consistent contributor with a goal and 10 points over that span. The Bolts may need the 33-year-old blueliner to find another gear in order to have a chance to bounce back from an 0-2 deficit in the series. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:33 am
    • Hangs on for Game 2 win
Shesterkin stopped 22 shots Tuesday during a 4-3 win over the Capitals in Game 2 of the Rangers' first-round series Tuesday.

Advice: The Caps only beat Shesterkin at even strength once on the night, as their last two tallies came on power plays. The 28-year-old netminder has allowed four goals on 46 shots to help the Rangers build a 2-0 series lead, and dating back to late March he hasn't given up more than three goals in any of his last nine starts, posting a 2.09 GAA and .921 save percentage over that stretch. Shesterkin will look to stay locked in as the series shifts to Washington for Game 3 on Friday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:10 am
    • Logs helper in loss
Pionk notched an assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots and four hits in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 2.

Advice: Pionk helped out on a David Gustafsson tally in the first period. After posting 33 points for the second regular season in a row, Pionk should be able to offer solid offense and plenty of physical play from his second-pairing role in the playoffs. The 28-year-old blueliner had 220 hits, 118 blocked shots, 63 PIM and 146 shots on net over 82 regular-season outings. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:04 pm
