    • Leaves Thursday's game
Drouin (undisclosed) left Thursday's game versus the Oilers, and head coach Jared Bednar did not provide an update on the forward's status following the contest, Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now reports.

Advice: Drouin left the game late in the second period and didn't play in the third. The Avalanche have generally had decent luck keeping players healthy down the stretch, but the timing of this injury is unfortunate. It's unclear if Drouin will be ready to suit up for Game 1 of the Avalanche's first-round series versus the Jets. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:40 pm
    • Resting Thursday
McDavid will sit out for rest Thursday versus the Oilers, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Advice: McDavid ends another excellent regular season with 32 goals and 100 assists over 76 appearances. He should be fine for Game 1 of the playoffs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:19 pm
    • Facing Oilers
Annunen will defend the home crease versus Edmonton on Thursday, Ryan Boulding of NHL.com reports.

Advice: Annunen will get the final start of the regular season Thursday, paving the way for Alexandar Georgiev to play all, if not the majority, of the team's playoff games. Annunen has been terrific in a back up role this year, going 7-4-1 with a 2.35 GAA and a .925 save percentage. The Oilers have scored 293 goals, fourth best in the NHL. • Practicing Thursday
Slavin (rest) took part in practice Thursday ahead of Game 1 against the Islanders on Saturday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Advice: Slavin has three multi-point games over his last five outings, tallying a combined seven points over that stretch. The blueliner has been fairly streaky offensively this season, so fantasy players may want to exercise caution when considering him for daily lineups. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:09 am
    • Two-point effort against Pens
Nelson produced an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Penguins.

Advice: After opening the scoring early in the first period, the 32-year-old helped set up Kyle Palmieri with only 16 seconds left in the second frame. Nelson extended his point streak to five games and his goal streak to three games in the process, and over that stretch he's racked up four goals and eight points. If the Islanders are going to upset the Hurricanes in the first round, Nelson will likely need to remain locked in. On the season, he's delivered 34 goals and 69 points, falling just short of the career-best numbers he posted in 2022-23. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:32 am
    • Busy to end regular season
Sorokin stopped 40 shots in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Penguins.

Advice: The 28-year-old goalie will take some momentum into the postseason. Sorokin made 40 or more saves in each of his last two starts, and he's gone 3-0-1 over his last four appearances while giving up nine goals on 133 shots (.932 save percentage). He'd been splitting work again with Semyon Varlamov to close out the regular season though, and Varly has won five straight starts of his own while posting a .945 save percentage. As a result, Varlamov seems to be the favorite to get the nod between the pipes Saturday when the Isles begin their first-round series in Carolina. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:24 am
    • Tallies lone goal in shootout loss
Thomas scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Stars.

Advice: Thomas had a great April with three goals and nine assists over eight contests. That puts a bow on a career year for the Blues' top-line center -- he finished with 26 goals, 86 points, 170 shots on net, 47 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 82 outings. Thomas won't ever be a shoot-first player, but his growth in that regard should have him in consideration as a middle-round pick in fantasy drafts in the fall. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:28 pm
    • Resting Wednesday
McCabe (rest) will be a healthy scratch Wednesday against Tampa Bay, per Luke Fox of Sportsnet.

Advice: McCabe will finish the regular season with eight goals, 28 points, 56 PIM, 219 hits and 129 blocks in 73 outings. The 30-year-old defenseman is just getting a breather and should serve in a top-four capacity in Game 1 of the playoffs. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:17 pm

    • Leaves ice first Wednesday
Sorokin was the first goalie off the ice Wednesday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports, indicating he'll be in goal at home against Pittsburgh.

Advice: With the Isles locked into the third seed in the Metropolitan Division, the team will go with Sorokin on Wednesday. That points to Semyon Varlamov being the presumptive starter for Game 1 of the postseason, which shouldn't come as a surprise considering he went 7-1-0 in eight games down the stretch. For his part, Sorokin did play in 55 games for the team this year and could jump into action in the playoffs if Varlamov struggles. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:43 am
