DeBrusk scored an empty-net goal on three shots and added four hits in Monday's 5-1 win over the Panthers in Game 1.

Advice: DeBrusk was able to find the empty cage to finish off Monday's tone-setting victory to begin the second round. The 27-year-old was also strong early in the first round with five points over the first three games against the Maple Leafs, but he was held off the scoresheet in the final four contests. DeBrusk typically won't have the most consistent offense, but he's in a position to succeed in a top-line role. The winger has added 32 hits, 19 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over eight playoff outings. Rotowire.com Today, 8:59 pm

    • Gets first point of postseason
Harley registered an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights in Game 7.

Advice: Harley snapped a seven-game point drought with the helper on Radek Faksa's third-period tally, which was the game-winning goal. The 22-year-old Harley had an excellent regular season with 15 goals and 47 points over 79 appearances, but he has just one assist with 12 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through seven playoff outings. He'll still absorb top-four minutes, especially with Dallas leaning heavily on five blueliners, but his offense may take a back seat to his defensive duties again versus the Avalanche in the second round. • Scores in Sunday's win
Panarin scored a goal on four shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Advice: Panarin's third-period tally ended up being the game-winner, as the Rangers had to fend off the Hurricanes' late comeback attempt. Through five playoff contests, Panarin has three goals, one assist and 15 shots on net. The winger had a career-best 49 goals and 120 points in the regular season, but he may have trouble replicating such a high scoring pace against a defense as stout as the Hurricanes in the second round. • Grabs Game 1 win
Shesterkin stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1 of the second round.

Advice: Shesterkin didn't show much rust despite getting a week off after the Rangers swept the Capitals in the first round. He's won seven starts in a row, and this was just the second time in that span he's given up more than two goals. The 28-year-old netminder has allowed 10 goals over five playoff outings and should have no trouble maintaining his place between the pipes in the second round. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:43 pm
    • Guarding cage Sunday
Shesterkin will get the starting nod for Game 1 at home against the Hurricanes on Sunday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Shesterkin was dominant in a sweep over the Capitals last round. He posted a .931 save percentage and allowed two or fewer goals in three contests. The 28-year-old hasn't lost a game since April 9 and hasn't given up more than three goals in a start since March 26. Shesterkin is 9-2-0 with a 1.98 GAA over his last 11 appearances. • Earns helper in Game 6 win
Boeser logged an assist, three shots on goal and four PIM in Friday's 1-0 win over the Predators in Game 6.

Advice: Boeser was productive in the first round, picking up four goals, two assists, 16 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over six contests, highlighted by his hat trick in Game 4. The winger set up Pius Suter for the lone tally in Game 6 as well. Boeser will continue to be a key part of the Canucks' offense heading into a second-round matchup with the Oilers that could lead to high-scoring clashes. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:37 pm
    • Not at practice Friday
Drouin (lower body) is still absent from practice Friday, Brennan Vogt of The-Rink.com reports.

Advice: Drouin missed all five games of the opening round versus Winnipeg and has yet to make an appearance at practice during the postseason. The 29-year-old had his best offensive season as an NHLer in 2023-24, picking up 56 points in 73 games, including 19 points on the power play. Drouin saw plenty of time on the top line alongside Nathan MacKinnon during the regular season. Look for Valeri Nichushkin, who had seven goals in five games during the first round, to remain on the top line until Drouin is ready to return. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:40 am
    • Falls to Edmonton
Rittich allowed four goals on 26 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 Game 5 loss to the Oilers.

Advice: Rittich and the Kings couldn't overcome Edmonton's three-goal second period in the series-deciding loss. The 31-year-old Rittich started the series' final two games, going 0-2-0 with an .872 save percentage after Cam Talbot struggled in the first three games. Rittich was solid in the regular season, going 13-6-3 with a .921 save percentage. Rittich could be looking for an opportunity to win a starting gig as a free agent this summer. • Set to start Wednesday
Rittich is slated to start on the road against Edmonton in Game 5 on Wednesday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Advice: Rittich is getting his second straight start after saving 12 of 13 shots in a 1-0 loss to Edmonton in Game 4 on Sunday. Edmonton has a potent offense, which ranked fourth in the 2023-24 campaign with 3.56 goals per game, so the Oilers will probably fire considerably more shots in the upcoming tilt. Rittich had a 13-6-3 record, 2.15 GAA and .921 save percentage in 24 regular-season contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:32 am
