    • Two-point effort Tuesday
Zibanejad produced a power-play goal and a shorthanded assist Tuesday in a 4-3 win over the Capitals in Game 2.

Advice: After finding the back of the net in the first period, Zibanejad helped set up K'Andre Miller for what proved to be the game-winner late in the second. Zibanejad is riding an active eight-game point streak extending back to the end of the regular season -- through two postseason contests, he's collected a goal and three points. He'll look to keep rolling on the road Friday in Game 3. Rotowire.com Today, 8:15 am
    • Stumbles in Game 2
Lindgren made 24 saves Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to the Rangers during Game 2 of the Capitals' first-round series.

Advice: New York scored twice with the man advantage and once on a K'Andre Miller shorthanded tally, but Lindgren did blank the Rangers in the third period to at least give his club an opportunity for a comeback. The 30-year-old netminder has given up eight goals on 58 shots to begin Washington's postseason run, and while the poor results so far may not be completely Lindgren's fault, coach Spencer Carbury may consider turning to Darcy Kuemper between the pipes when the series shifts back to D.C. for Game 3 on Friday. • Collects win Tuesday
Saros allowed a goal on 18 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Advice: Saros was solid when called upon, but the Predators were also credited with 30 blocked shots to make his job easier. He's allowed four goals on 38 shots over two playoff contests so far. Saros will likely continue to see most, if not all, of the starts during the postseason, and he's likely to get more goal support while Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) is out of action for the Canucks. Game 3 is set for Friday in Nashville. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:09 pm
    • Snags helper in win
MacKinnon posted an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Jets in Game 2.

Advice: MacKinnon set up a Josh Manson tally on a breakaway out of the penalty box late in the second period. The helper was MacKinnon's third point over two playoff contests so far, and he's added six shots on net and a plus-2 rating. The superstar center has 16 points over 10 outings in April and remains the focal point of the Avalanche's offense. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:26 pm
    • Deposits empty-netter
Nichushkin scored an empty-net goal on five shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Jets in Game 2.

Advice: Nichushkin had to work for the empty-netter, earning his fifth point over his last four outings. The 29-year-old winger started the contest on the second line but saw some shifts on the first unit as well when Zach Parise got shuffled down the lineup. Nichushkin can provide solid offense as long as he's in the top six, and he's also a good source of hits with five over the first two contests of the postseason. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm
    • Takes slight step back in 2023-24
Buchnevich contributed 27 goals and 36 assists across 80 games during 2023-24.

Advice: Buchnevich scored 26 goals and added 41 assists last season, but he managed that total across just 63 contests. However, Buchnevich had a 21.1 shooting percentage in 2023-24, so some regression was anticipated. By contrast, the 29-year-old succeeded on 13.0 percent of his shots this year, which is more in line with his career average of 14.6. The 29-year-old winger is heading into the final season of his contract carrying a $5.8 million cap hit. The Blues will try to sign him to an extension this summer, but if he doesn't put pen to paper, the Russian winger will be subjected to trade speculation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:50 pm
    • Tending twine in Game 2
Saros will guard the road goal versus the Canucks on Tuesday in Game 2, Zach Gilchriest of the Predators' official site reports.

Advice: Saros will look to overcome his Game 1 loss, in which he allowed three goals on 20 shots, including a pair of tallies in a 12-second span in the third period. The 29-year-old has lost all three of his games versus the Canucks this season, allowing a total of 11 goals. His Predators teammates may find more room for offense Tuesday with Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) out and Casey DeSmith slated to start for Vancouver. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:43 pm
    • In goal for Game 2
Lindgren will start on the road in Game 2 versus the Rangers on Tuesday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

Advice: Lindgren stopped 27 of 31 shots in a 4-1 loss in Game 1. The 30-year-old is firmly established as the Capitals' No. 1 goalie, but he faces an uphill battle versus the Presidents' Trophy winners. Lindgren has allowed eight goals across four appearances versus the Rangers in 2023-24. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:33 pm
    • Undergoes shoulder surgery
Meier will have arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder but is expected to be ready for training camp ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, the Devils announced Tuesday.

Advice: Despite several injury concerns, Meier still managed to rack up 28 goals and 24 helpers in 69 games this season, including 17 power-play points. The Swiss international should be a near-lock to maintain a top-six role playing alongside Nico Hischier or Jack Hughes (shoulder) next season. It wouldn't be surprising to see Meier find his way back above the 30-goal and 60-point milestones provided he stays healthy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:23 am
