Stone scored an empty-net goal in Friday's 2-0 win over the Stars in Game 6.

Advice: Stone has produced modest offense in the first round, earning three goals with 10 shots on net , 12 hits and a minus-2 rating over six appearances. He's exceeded 18 minutes of ice time in four of those games, so it's safe to assume he's not being bothered too much by the lacerated spleen that kept him out of the last 26 games of the regular season. Stone should continue to play on the second line and first power-play unit. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:53 pm
    • Breaks tie in Game 6
Hanifin scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 2-0 win over the Stars in Game 6.

Advice: Hanifin's goal midway through the third period opened the scoring and stood as the game-winner. The 27-year-old defenseman has continued to be a strong part of the Golden Knights' blue line in the postseason, picking up two goals, three assists, 10 shots on net, 12 blocked shots, six hits and a minus-2 rating over six first-round appearances. Hanifin should continue to see significant minutes in all situations heading into Sunday's Game 7. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:51 pm
    • Good to play for Team Canada
Guhle, who missed the final seven games of the regular season due to a head injury, will join Team Canada for the upcoming IIHF World Championship.

Advice: Guhle finished the 2023-24 season with six goals, 22 points, 56 PIM, 116 hits and 178 blocks in 70 contests with Montreal. He served in a top-four capacity with the Canadiens, and the 22-year-old should act in a similar capacity for the franchise next campaign. In the meantime, Guhle will get in some extra high-level action during the international tournament before beginning his summer training. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:02 pm
    • Garners two helpers Wednesday
Nugent-Hopkins earned a pair of assists in a 4-3 victory over the Kings in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Advice: Nugent-Hopkins has managed just two shots over his last four games, failing to find the back of the net along the way, but he's chipped in five helpers over that stretch. In fact, dating back to the regular season, the veteran center has scored only one goal in his previous 10 appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:31 am
    • Blown away by Carolina
Varlamov turned aside 32 of 37 shots Tuesday in a 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 5 of the Islanders' first-round series, with Carolina's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Advice: With their season on the line, the Isles came out flat and were down 2-0 before the four-minute mark in the first period. While Varlamov played well enough to allow his team to rally and tie things up by the second intermission, the third period belonged to Carolina. The veteran netminder posted a 2.70 GAA and .914 save percentage in his five playoff appearances, numbers very similar to his 2.60 GAA and .918 save percentage during the regular season. Barring a trade, he'll return to man the crease in Long Island in 2024-25 alongside Ilya Sorokin. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:40 am
    • Two more assists Monday
Tkachuk registered two assists and six shots on goal in Monday's 6-1 win over the Lightning in Game 5.

Advice: Tkachuk helped out on third-period goals by Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe. This was Tkachuk's fourth multi-point effort in five playoff games -- he has accumulated three goals and six assists in the postseason. The winger should continue to see heavy usage in a top-six role while providing solid offense and physical play. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:11 pm
    • One of each Monday
Mikkola scored an empty-net goal, added an assist, logged five hits and blocked three shots in Monday's 6-1 win over the Lightning in Game 5.

Advice: Mikkola helped out on Carter Verhaeghe's opening goal in the second period and scored the final goal of the game in the third. This was Mikkola's first multi-point effort since Dec. 6. He's maintained steady ice time in a top-four role this season, though he's rarely been a big contributor on offense. The 28-year-old blueliner had three goals, 17 points, 93 shots on net, 199 hits, 124 blocked shots and 69 PIM over 82 regular-season outings. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:04 pm
    • Gets starting nod for Tuesday
Varlamov will be between the road pipes for Game 5 against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Advice: As expected, Varlamov gets the nod after having put together a strong showing in Game 4. He stopped 42 of 44 shots on net in that must-win contest. At this point, the 36-year-old Varlamov figures to continue trying to stave off elimination for the Islanders for as long as he can. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:49 am
    • Provides relief appearance
Brossoit was thrust into duty Sunday when starter Connor Hellebuyck was pulled at the end of the second period. He made four saves in relief as the Jets fell 5-1 to the Avalanche in Game 4.

Advice: Hellebuyck was pulled in the second period after allowing four goals, so Brossoit took over between the pipes and turned aside all four shots sent his way. The Avalanche added an empty-netter with only 13 seconds left in the game. This was Brossoit's first appearance in the playoffs. Look for Winnipeg to return to Hellebuyck when the Jets host Colorado in Game 5 on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:58 pm
