    • Two goals help extend campaign
Stamkos deposited two goals, including a power-play tally, in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Panthers to stave off elimination in Game 4 of the conference quarterfinals.

Advice: After receiving an incredible backhand feed from Brayden Point for the game's first goal, Stamkos ripped one of his patented wrist shots past Sergei Bobrovsky to put the Lightning up 5-3 at 9:34 in the third period. The performance gave the electrifying forward 50 playoff goals for his career, and 101 postseason points. Stamkos has five goals and an assist in this first-round series, and his impressive showing Saturday left the door open for more playoff action for the Bolts. Game 5 is set for Monday. • Scores lone goal in loss
Marner scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Bruins in Game 4.

Advice: Marner snapped a five-game goal drought with his third-period tally, but the Maple Leafs couldn't make a rally out of it. He's picked up just two points with seven shots on net, six hits and a plus-1 rating over four playoff contests, which is not enough production from one of the team's core players. Marner remains in a top-six role, but Toronto will need more out of him to keep its season alive beyond Tuesday's Game 5. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:48 pm
    • Earns power-play helper
McAvoy logged a power-play assist, two shots on goal, two PIM, two blocked shots, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Maple Leafs in Game 4.

Advice: McAvoy set up Brad Marchand's second-period tally, which ended up being the game-winner. With four helpers (three on the power play) through four playoff contests, McAvoy is stepping up on offense and playing steady defense, which has helped the Bruins establish a 3-1 series lead. The 26-year-old has added eight shots on net, 15 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in the postseason. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm
    • Sharp in Game 3 win
Shesterkin made 28 saves Friday during a 3-1 win over the Capitals in Game 3 of the Rangers' first-round series.

Advice: John Carlson beat Shesterkin from the blue line with a knuckleball shot less than six minutes into the first period, but it only got the Rangers netminder mad, and he shut the door on Washington the rest of the way. Shesterkin has allowed only five goals on 75 shots while going 3-0 to begin the Rangers' postseason run, and they'll look for the sweep Sunday in Game 4. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:53 am

    • Nets 20th career playoff goal
Carlson was the lone scorer for the Capitals in Friday's 3-1 Game 3 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Carlson opened the scoring with a fluttering shot that eluded Igor Shesterkin, but the lead was short-lived as the Blueshirts countered with two goals of their own in the first period, followed by a power-play insurance tally in the second frame. The venerable defenseman is up to 20 goals and 75 total points through 126 career playoff games, but being down 3-0 in the series, the Capitals need goals any way they can get them. • One of each in win
MacKinnon scored a on goal eight shots and added an assist in Friday's 6-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Advice: Both of MacKinnon's points Friday came on the power play, and he's now at five points (three with the man advantage) through three playoff contests. The superstar center has added 14 shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. MacKinnon's career year didn't stop at the end of the regular season, and he should continue to be one of the top scoring threats in the postseason. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:17 pm

    • Slated to face Capitals
Shesterkin is slated to start on the road against Washington in Game 3 on Friday, according to Seth Orlemann of USA Today.

Advice: Shesterkin won the first two contests of the series while stopping 42 of 46 shots (.913 save percentage). The Capitals ranked 28th offensively with just 2.63 goals per game in the regular season, so it's not surprising that they haven't given Shesterkin much trouble in the first round. That said, the series moving to Washington might help the Capitals, who were 22-12-7 at home compared to 18-19-4 on the road during the 2023-24 campaign. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:10 am

    • Goal streak at three games
Stamkos scored a goal on two shots and added six hits, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating Thursday in a 5-3 loss to the Panthers in Game 3 of the Lightning's first-round series.

Advice: The 34-year-old has done his best to keep Tampa Bay afloat, finding the back of the net in three straight games to begin the playoffs, but his team still faces the prospect of getting swept after losing all three contests. Stamkos also has a couple career milestones in his sights -- he needs two more playoff goals for 50 in his caree, and one more playoff point for 100. He might need to reach both marks Saturday in Game 4 in order for the Lightning to stay alive. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:04 am

    • Hands out assist in Game 2
Arvidsson logged an assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Oilers in Game 2.

Advice: Arvidsson set up Drew Doughty's breakaway tally in the first period. With two helpers over two playoff contests, Arvidsson is settling in nicely on the second line. The winger has added four shots on net. He closed the regular season with 10 points over his last nine outings, so it shouldn't be surprising to see the 31-year-old finding success on offense in the postseason.
