    • Niemi outdueled LA's Jonathan Quick on Saturday as the Sharks got by the Kings in overtime, 2-1. Niemi stopped 26 shots on the night.
Recommendation: Niemi rose to this ocasion. The Sharks had to have this game, to avoid dropping into a 3-0 hole; and Niemi had to come up big, as Quick put on another dazzling performance. Game 4 is Tuesday, and Niemi will assuredly be in the crease for that contest.

    • Quick was on his game Saturday, stopping 38 San Jose shots, but his teammates couldn't generate enough offense to close the deal as the Sharks escaped with a 2-1 overtime win.
Recommendation: He's displaying the same form in this postseason that propelled the Kings to the 2012 Stanley Cup. We have no hesitation about commending him to you whenever LA takes the ice.

    • Anderson will start Game 3 against Pittsburgh on Sunday, Sportsnet.ca's Ian Mendes reports.
Recommendation: Anderson has taken a beating from Pittsburgh in the first two games, allowing a miserable seven goals on just 51 shots. A regular season GAA of 1.69 gives Ottawa a reason to keep the faith in Anderson, however, and his odds of pulling off a win are aided by the return of Jason Spezza (back), who hasn't played since Jan. 27.

    • Lehner came on in relief during the second period of Friday's Game 2 loss to the Penguins.
Recommendation: Starter Craig Anderson allowed three goals on 21 shots before being yanked in favor of Lehner, who allowed one goal on 21 shots. There's no word yet on who will start Game 3 on Sunday, as the Sens may be looking for a spark with their backs against the wall in the series.

    • Rask stopped 33-of-35 shots in Thursday's overtime win over the Rangers in Game 1 of the Bruins' second-round playoff series.
Recommendation: Look for Rask to see all the starts in goal for the Bruins as their playoff run continues. Next up for the team is Game 2, an afternoon tilt at home against the Rangers on Sunday.

    • Vokoun will start in net for Friday's Game 2 against the Senators, TSN's Brent Wallace reports.
Recommendation: Vokoun got the win and recorded 35 saves in Game 1 of the second round, but his performance had it's rough spots. Vokoun will be on a short leash going forward, as coach Dan Bylsma could turn to Marc-Andre Fleury at any point.

    • Lundqvist will be in the net for Game 1 against the Rangers on Thursday.
Recommendation: To no one's surprise, Lundqvist will handle goaltending duties in Game 1, and probably for every remaining start this season for that matter. Coming off two shutouts to close out the series against the Capitals, he might be the hottest goalie going right now.

Recommendation: It's not clear if he'll be playing for the Wild again next season as Backstrom will be an unrestricted free agent.

    • Crawford only faced 21 shots on goal in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals in the 4-1 victory over the Red Wings on Wednesday.
Recommendation: Crawford was really only tested in the first period as Detroit appeared to run out of gas coming off a seven-game First Round series victory over the Ducks. Starting Saturday with Game 2 against the Red Wings, it should be a little bit harder, but Crawford's history suggests he excels against Detroit.

    • Howard (hamstring) will start Game 1 against the Blackhawks on Wednesday.
Recommendation: Howard has been dealing with a hamstring issue lately, but has played well despite it. He finished the first round with a mediocre save percentage of .911 and a 2.74 GAA, but got better as the series went on, winning three of the final four games to help the Wings advance.

    • Holtby stopped just 22 of 27 shots in a 5-0 Game 7 loss to the Rangers in Washington on Monday night.
Recommendation: The season is over for the Capitals after the blowout Monday night. Holtby ended the series with a .922 save percentage and a 2.22 goals allowed average. Holtby saw the vast majority of the playing time this year for the Caps and will head into the offseason as the heir apparent in the net. He's going to have to win in the playoffs eventually, though.

    • Reimer will start Game 7 against the Bruins on Monday, NHL.com reports.
Recommendation: Reimer has been great in the past two games for the Leafs, giving up just two goals on 74 shots against over that span. He will need to be good again Monday in order for the Leafs to advance after trailing the Bruins 3-1 in the series.
