    • Stellar in Game 4
Johnston scored two goals on eight shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Monday's 5-1 win over the Avalanche in Game 4.

Advice: Johnston opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal on a rebound in the first period. He added a power-play marker in the second and set up Sam Steel's empty-netter in the third. Johnston had been held off the scoresheet in the previous two games. That hasn't stopped him from looking like a standout for the Stars with seven goals, four assists, 39 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over 11 playoff appearances. If Roope Hintz (upper body) misses time, Johnston could be a natural fit to take his spot on the top line. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:04 am

    • First goalie off Monday
Andersen was the first goalie to leave the ice Monday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports, indicating he'll be in goal on the road for Game 5 against the Rangers.

Advice: Andersen was almost certainly going to get the start after helping the team stave off elimination by stopping 22 of 25 shots in Game 4. Still, the veteran netminder is sporting a lackluster .874 save percentage over his last four appearances. At this point, if Andersen can extend the series again, he should remain between the pipes heading into Game 6. Rotowire.com May 13, 8:24 am
    • One of each Sunday
Ekholm scored a power-play goal on four shots, dished an assist and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.

Advice: The Oilers' second power-play unit made a rare contribution, with Ekholm getting the opening goal. He also set up Evan Bouchard in the third period, but the Canucks controlled the scoring in between those tallies. All three of Ekholm's goals this postseason have come in the second round, and he's added two assists, 16 shots on net, 10 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff outings overall. The 33-year-old should continue to see his even-strength minutes on the top pairing alongside Bouchard. Rotowire.com May 12, 10:33 pm
    • Makes relief appearance
Pickard stopped all three shots he faced in relief of Stuart Skinner in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.

Advice: This was Pickard's first playoff action this spring, and he did fairly well, though the Canucks were mostly nursing their lead while he was in the game. Head coach Kris Knoblauch didn't name a starter for Game 4 on Tuesday in his postgame comments, per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic, which leaves open the possibility Pickard could get a start now that the Oilers trail 2-1 in the series. The 32-year-old went 12-7-1 with a 2.45 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 23 regular-season appearances as Skinner's backup this year. Rotowire.com May 12, 10:25 pm
    • Adds helper in Game 3
Benn recorded an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Avalanche in Game 3.

Advice: Benn helped out on Tyler Seguin's empty-net goal in the third period. Benn is already at four points through three games in the second round after earning three points in seven contests against Vegas during the opening round. The 34-year-old forward has added 16 shots on net, 31 hits and an even plus-minus rating through 10 playoff outings while filling a middle-six role. Rotowire.com May 11, 11:17 pm

    • Banks in goal
Lafreniere scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

Advice: Lafreniere has scored in three straight contests, and he's earned four goals and three assists during a five-game point streak. His tally Saturday tied the game at 3-3 early in the third period with a backhand shot that banked in off Frederik Andersen. Lafreniere is up to 10 points, 22 shots on net, 12 hits and a plus-1 rating through eight playoff outings. Rotowire.com May 11, 10:25 pm
    • Keeps season alive
Andersen stopped 22 of 25 shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rangers in Game 4.

Advice: Andersen got the nod for Game 4 after Pyotr Kochetkov couldn't turn the Hurricanes' fortunes around in Game 3. Andersen didn't have a great performance Saturday, but he did just enough to keep Carolina's season alive for one more contest. The 34-year-old is now 5-3 with a 2.63 GAA and an .897 save percentage through eight playoff outings. It won't get easier moving forward, as the Hurricanes are still facing elimination as the series shifts back to New York for Game 5 on Monday. Rotowire.com May 11, 9:24 pm
    • Expected to face Rangers
Andersen is set to guard the home goal against the Rangers in Game 4 on Saturday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.

Advice: Andersen will return to the crease after Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 22 of 25 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers in Game 3 on Thursday. The 34-year-old Andersen has a 2.58 GAA and an .899 save percentage across seven playoff outings this year. The Rangers have made life difficult for opposing goaltenders by averaging 3.71 goals per contest during the 2024 postseason. Rotowire.com May 11, 3:37 pm
