      Advice: Hughes didn't post a shot on goal for the first time in the series, but the point-packing defender has four helpers through three contests against Nashville. Of course, you could say that his performance Friday was just another day at the office for Hughes after he led all NHL defensemen in assists (75) and points (92) during the regular season.       Kyrou recorded 31 goals and 67 points -- 21 on the power play -- through 82 games during the 2023-24 season.

      Advice: Kyrou made some strides in his defensive game, as he finished minus-12 after registering minus-38 last year, but he still has work to do in that area. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old got red-hot down the stretch with 10 goals over the final 13 contests to finish his second straight 30-goal season -- he finished 2022-23 with 37 markers.       Meier will have arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder but is expected to be ready for training camp ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, the Devils announced Tuesday.

      Advice: Despite several injury concerns, Meier still managed to rack up 28 goals and 24 helpers in 69 games this season, including 17 power-play points. The Swiss international should be a near-lock to maintain a top-six role playing alongside Nico Hischier or Jack Hughes (shoulder) next season.       Matthews tallied a goal and added two assists in Monday's 3-2 win over the Bruins in Game 2.

      Advice: Matthews assisted on Max Domi's goal midway through the first period before adding a second helper on John Tavares' power-play marker in the second. Matthews would then tally the eventual game-winner in the third, beating Linus Ullmark on a breakaway to put Toronto ahead 3-2 and even the series 1-1. It's an encouraging effort from Matthews and for the Leafs after the 26-year-old center was held off the scoresheet in Game 1.
