    • Dealing with shoulder issue
Stutzle said Thursday that he dealt with a shoulder injury during the 2023-24 campaign, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

Advice: Stutzle will need another opinion in terms of whether or not he'll require surgery. The talented center missed the last seven games of the season. Stutzle ended up with 18 goals, 70 points, 192 shots on goal and 100 hits in 75 appearances this season. He regressed from 2022-23, when he managed 39 goals and 90 points in 78 appearances. • Can't find 70th goal
Matthews was held without a point despite a game-high 12 shots on net in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Lightning.

Advice: Neither team had anything to play for in the standings, but Matthews needed only one goal to become the ninth player in NHL history with 70 in a season, so his Leafs teammates fed him the puck at every opportunity. The closest he came to lighting the lamp was when he rocketed a shot off the post behind Matt Tomkins in the second period. Matthews instead had to settle for a franchise record 69 goals in 81 games, and his 107 points were a career high as well as the fourth-highest total in Toronto history behind Doug Gilmour (127 in 1992-93 and 111 in 1993-94) and Darryl Sittler (117 in 1977-78). • Falls to former team
Markstrom allowed four goals on 31 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks.

Advice: The Flames' offense went cold against a tough opponent, leaving Markstrom with his fourth straight loss. The 34-year-old goalie dropped to 23-23-2 with a 2.78 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 49 contests this season. The Flames host the Sharks on Thursday to finish the campaign, but the team hasn't announced if Markstrom or Dustin Wolf will start the finale. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:15 pm
    • Allows four goals in loss
Grubauer surrendered four goals on 24 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.

Advice: The Kraken hung around in this contest, but they weren't able to give Grubauer a lead to protect. He has won four of his last seven games, allowing a reasonable 17 tallies over that span. Grubauer is at 14-16-2 with a 2.85 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 36 appearances on the year. The Kraken end their season Thursday in Minnesota, but the team hasn't revealed which goalie will start that contest. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:25 pm
    • Starting in Winnipeg
Grubauer will guard the road goal Tuesday versus the Jets, per Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.

Advice: Grubauer is coming off a 27-save effort in a 3-1 loss to Dallas on Saturday. He has a 14-15-2 record this campaign with a 2.82 GAA and a .901 save percentage in 35 appearances. Winnipeg sits 15th in the league this season with 3.14 goals per contest. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 4:40 pm
    • Officially out Tuesday
Stutzle (upper body) won't play Tuesday versus the Bruins.

Advice: Stutzle will end up having missed the last seven games of the campaign. The 22-year-old has not been cleared for contact yet, though he joined the Senators on their last road trip. He concludes a down year with 18 goals, 70 points, 192 shots on net, 100 hits and a minus-17 rating over 75 appearances. If Stutzle heals up in time, he could still join Germany for the IIHF World Championship. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:32 pm

    • Tending twine Tuesday
Markstrom will patrol the road crease versus Vancouver on Tuesday, Eric Francis of Sportsnet reports.

Advice: Markstrom is stuck in a three-game losing streak while also having won just once in his last seven outings. During that seven-game stretch, the 34-year-old backstop has managed a subpar 3.48 GAA and .870 save percentage. Meanwhile, Dustin Wolf has won three in a row and could get the nod for the season finale against San Jose on Thursday. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:48 am
    • Lone marker in finale
Meier scored a goal on two shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders.

Advice: Meier got the Devils on the board early in the second period, knocking home a rebound off Semyon Varlamov to cut the Islanders' lead to 2-1. The 27-year-old winger finished the year strong, tallying nine goals and 16 points in his last 14 games. However, it was a disappointing campaign overall for Meier -- he'll finish with 28 goals and 52 points after surpassing the 60-point threshold in each of his previous two seasons. • Two-point effort in win
Fox scored a shorthanded goal on two shots, added an assist, blocked three shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-0 win over the Senators.

Advice: Fox has multiple shorthanded points in each of the last four seasons. The defenseman has also recorded three straight 70-point campaigns, finishing 2023-24 with a career-high 17 goals with 56 helpers over 72 appearances. Fox also earned 33 power-play points, 123 blocked shots and a plus-21 rating during the regular season. The 26-year-old defenseman remains one of the best in the league at his position, and he'll be tasked with a workhorse role during the Rangers' postseason run. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:23 pm
